Ravens Vs Jaguars Odds & Pick

Are The Jaguars Good Enough To Bet On In 2014?

Should You Bet On Jacksonville Jaguars In The 2014 NFL Season?

The Jacksonville Jaguars (4-12 SU, 5-10-1 ATS, 9-7 O/U) will enter the 2014 regular season looking to get back to being respectable – while simultaneously trying not to drive head coach Gus Bradley absolutely insane.

Let’s explore what the beleaguered Jags are facing as we move closer to the start of the 2014 NFL regular season.

This in-depth look at Jacksonville ‘s upcoming 2014 season will help you maximize your chances of cashing in on the Jaguars over the course of the 2014 NFL regular season.

Betting On The Jacksonville Jaguars To Win Super Bowl 49

Jacksonville Jaguars +20000

Analysis: Let me not waste anyone’s time even suggesting the Jags have a chance to reach the postseason – or win Super Bowl 49. As a matter of fact…even suggesting such foolishness should be a federal offense….I’m just saying.

Your NFL Super Bowl 49 Futures Odds cash would be better served being spent on another team – like one that has a real chance.

Jacksonville finished the 2013 season ranked in the bottom third in every meaningful statistical category. They drafted quarterback Blake Bortles with the third overall pick in the NFL Draft, but the team – and its fragile psyche – could have the same negative effect it did on Blaine Gabbert, the 10th overall selection in the 2011 NFL Draft.

Slowly but surely, Gabbert was pounded into submission and regressed each season, much like former No. 1 overall draft pick David Carr did for the Houston Texans about a decade ago.

Betting On the Jacksonville Jaguars To Win the AFC South

  • Indianapolis Colts -175
  • Tennessee Titans +550
  • Jacksonville Jaguars +1400
  • Houston Texans +250

Analysis: Jacksonville ranked a dismal 22nd in passing and 31st in rushing while also finishing the season ranked 26th against the pass and a discouraging 29th against the run.

Jacksonville managed to beat Houston twice last season en route to a 3-3 SU and ATS mark against its AFC South division rivals.

Still, this team has far too many problems for them to even think they have a chance at winning the AFC South in 2014.

Projected Order of Finish: Colts, Texans, Titans, Jaguars

Betting On the Jacksonville Jaguars to Win In Week One

  • Jacksonville Jaguars at Philadelphia Eagles -11.5
  • Over/Under 51.5

Analysis: The Eagles have gone 5-4-1 SU and 3-7 ATS in its last 11 games as a favorite of at least eight points or more and have failed to cover the spread in five straight such matchups.

The Birds are 3-1 SU and 2-2 ATS in their last four games against AFC South opponents, with all four contests coming during the 2010 season.

Philadelphia last hosted Jacksonville way back in 2006 when they lost 13-6 as a 8-point favorite but beat the Jags during their 2010 encounter 28-3 to cash in as a 3-point road favorite.

Jacksonville is back in ‘rebuilding mode’ once again this season under second-year head coach Gus Bradley, but they’ve got a long road ahead just to get back to respectability. The Jags finished 31st in rushing and 29th against the run defensively, so they’ve got a plethora of issues they’re trying to address.

I like the Philadelphia Eagles and their high-octane offense to throttle the Jags and cover the spread with room to spare.

My Pick: Philly -11.5 Points

Jacksonville Jaguars Betting Tips

In addition to its own division games, the AFC South teams will face the NFC East and AFC North in 2014. The Jags are 5-5 SU and 6-4 ATS in their last 10 games against NFC East ballclubs though they haven’t faced one since 2010.

Jacksonville has struggled mightily against teams from the AFC North, going 3-7 SU and 4-6 ATS in their last 10 meetings against their conference foes.

The Jags have lost a whopping nine of their last 10 home games while going 2-7-1 ATS over the stretch.

I don’t see a whole lot of wins coming for the Jaguars this season, but I do believe they’ll somehow reach four wins again – if not, dare I say it…a whopping five or six wins.
