While Marcus Mariota and the Tennessee Titans need some help to reach the playoffs, they’ll also need to help themselves out by beating their playoff-bound division-winning rivals when they host the Jacksonville Jaguars in their Week 17 regular season finale this coming weekend.
Jaguars vs Titans Spread & ATS Pick
Jacksonville Jaguars (10-5) at Tennessee Titans (8-7)
When: Sunday, December 31, 2017 at 4:25 PM ET

NFL Odds: Tennessee -3.5
The Jaguars had the AFC South division title wrapped up before they ever took the field for their Week 16 road date against San Francisco. Having said that, I guess it’s at least understandable that the Jags got smacked around by the suddenly ‘Jimmy G improved’ Niners 44-33 last weekend. Their loss, combined with Pittsburgh’s win on Monday ended the Jaguars’ hope securing the No. 1 or No. 2 seed. No matter what happens this coming weekend, the Jags are assured of at least being the No. 3 seed in the AFC playoffs.
Tennessee has fallen apart at the worst possible time and enter their regular-season finale riding a three-game losing streak. While the Titans put up a really good effort in Week 16 against the NFC West champion Los Angeles Rams, they ended up falling to L.A. 27-23 at home this past weekend. The Titans have lost four of their last six games overall, with their only wins during the stretch coming against the injury-ravaged Colts and Texans.
Still, even after suffering their third consecutive loss Tennessee remains ahead of the Los Angeles Chargers and Buffalo Bills because of their better conference record. The Titans will clinch a wild-card spot if they defeat the Jaguars or if both the Bills and Chargers lose in Week 17.
Thanks to the combination of Tennessee being completely desperate in their win or go home scenario and Jacksonville having absolutely nothing left to play for, I like the Titans to get the postseason-clinching home win in this one while narrowly covering the chalk against a Jacksonville team that will rest their starters for the most part in this one.
The Titans are 4-0 ATS in their last four games following a straight-up loss and 5-1 ATS in their L/6 games against a team with a winning record while the favorite in this division rivalry has gone 4-1-1 ATS in their last 6 meetings.
ATS Pick: Tennessee -3.5
