NFL Week 3 action starts with Sam Darnold and the New York Jets facing Baker Mayfield and the Cleveland Browns. The NFL week 3 betting spread favors the Browns by a field-goal. The moneyline pays out $150 on a Jets winning bet of $100. Cleveland pays $100 on a $170 winning bet. The game total is a basement dwelling 39.5-points for over/under bets.
Kick-off is on Thursday, September 20th at 8:20 PM ET at the FirstEnergy Stadium.

Why Bet On The Jets To Win
The New York Jets are listed as a betting underdog versus a Browns team that has won only one of its past 37 games. If you do the math, that’s over 600 days without a victory. Are the 1-1 Jets that bad or are the 0-1-1 Browns that good?
New York has outscored opponents by 68 to 29. Sam Darnold had a 300-yard game in his second start, but he also threw 2 interceptions. The Jets will go as far as Darnold rebounds from a shaky game 2.
The rookie QB also goes up against the only team that passed him over in this year’s draft. He will be pumped to show Cleveland what they passed on. The Browns picked Baker Mayfield who has yet to see action.
Why Bet On The Browns To Win
The Browns would be 2-0 if not for kicker Zane Gonzalez’s botched kicks. In week 1, he had an OT field-goal blocked. And last week Gonzalez yanked an extra point left that would of put the Browns up 10-points in the third quarter. Then he yanked a 44-yard field goal left again in a dome which fueled the Saints comeback.
Wait there’s more. Gonzalez then missed another extra-point that would have given the Browns a 1-point lead with 1:16 left in the game. New Orleans then took a 3-point lead with 21 seconds left. On the ensuing Brown’s drive, Tyrod Taylor completed two passes to give Gonzalez a chance to be the hero. A completed 52-yard field goal would have sent the game to OT. He missed right.
The Browns waived Gonzalez and signed rookie kicker Greg Joseph on Monday. With a 3-point spread, the kicker will be the MVP of this game.
Jets vs Browns Betting Predictions
Traditionally giving the road team 3-points equates to a pick’em game on the neutral field. That’s how close NFL oddsmakers see this game.
But I see it differently. The Browns defense intercepted Ben Roethlisberger 3-times in week 1. They will make Darnold’s night a nightmare. Plus the Jets are playing their third game in 11 days and second on the road. I am betting on Cleveland to cover the 3-point NFL betting spread. I also am backing the over bet.
