Why Bet The Detroit Lions To Beat The Saints
The Lions know the only way they have a shot to get to the postseason is if they have Matthew Stafford healthy. Their offensive line needs up man up and do the job. Stafford has been sacked 12 times and hit another 14.
The 29-year-old has completed 111 of 173 passes for 1,116 yards, nine touchdowns and one interception this season for the 3-2 Lions. Detroit signed him to a $135 million, five-year contract extension this offseason, making him the highest-paid player in the NFL.
Last week, Stafford finished the game versus the Panthers with a bum hammy and a suspect ankle. Stafford was able to throw two fourth-quarter TDs in the losing effort.
Good news is that there was no mention of any hamstring issues on the injury report, even though Stafford appeared to have extra padding or a compression sleeve on underneath his pants and pads during the part of practice open to media Wednesday.
Stafford seemed to be walking fine through the locker room Wednesday and while approaching and leaving the podium for his weekly news conference. He did appear to have a small hitch in his gait while jogging during practice.
Why Bet The New Orleans Saints To Beat The Lions
As long as QB Drew Brees is under center, every opponent needs to worry about keeping pace with his torrid scoring pace. Brees is completing 69.1% of his passes with eight touchdowns thrown in four games this season. He hasn’t been picked off yet.
The Lions have the 29th ranked pass defense this season and Brees will make it look the worst.
If You Still Can’t Decide Who To Bet On:
- Lions are 4-1 ATS in their last 5 games in Week 6.

Lions Vs. Saints Week 6 Betting Analysis:
The Saints haven’t shown enough to be 6-point favorites against anybody this season. Let alone against the Lions who were considered one of the best teams in the NFL. Detroit has won the last three meetings in the series against New Orleans, including the two at the Mercedes-Benz Superdome. Take the Lions with the points.
