NFL Week 11 Lock Picks

NFL Week 11 Lock Picks

My NFL Week 11 lock picks begin with Thursday Night Football when New Orleans battles the Panthers in North Carolina. Will Drew Brees and the Saints bounce back from a loss to Denver in Week 10? On Sunday, Kansas City hosts Tampa Bay. Are the Chiefs going to put a beating onto Jameis Winston and the Bucs? Also on Sunday, Pittsburgh travels to Cleveland. Can the Steelers bounce back from a home loss to Dallas on Sunday?

New Orleans at Carolina
When: Thursday, Nov. 17 at 8:25 pm ET
Where: Bank of America Stadium, Charlotte, NC
TV: NBC
Odds: Carolina -4

Analysis: Carolina blew a 17-point lead at home versus the Kansas City Chiefs in Week 10. The Chiefs scored 17 points in the second half against the Panthers. They ended up beating Carolina 20 to 17.

The Saints lost 23 to 25 to Denver due to a blocked extra point at home in Week 10. After Drew Brees threw a TD pass to Brandin Cooks, it appeared that the Saints would take a 1-point lead. All they needed to do was convert the field goal. But Denver blocked it.

That won’t deter New Orleans from racking up points against Carolina on Thursday night. The Saints average 29.4 points per game. If you’re a Panthers fan, you also must worry about the fact that New Orleans sacked Denver QB Trevor Siemian 6 times and picked him off twice this past Sunday.

I think the Saints are a lock at +4 against the Panthers on Nov. 17.

Pick: New Orleans

Tampa Bay at Kansas City
When:  Sunday, Nov. 20 at 1:00 pm ET
Where: Arrowhead Stadium, Kansas City, MO
TV: FOX
Odds: Kansas City -7.5

Analysis: Tampa Bay’s defense played exceptionally well against the Chicago Bears in Week 10. The D held the Bears to 161 passing yards and 10 points. They picked off Jay Cutler twice and forced 2 lost fumbles.

But Kansas City is a much better team than Chicago. The Chiefs’ defense could shut down QB Jameis Winston and WR Mike Evans. Even if Evans and Winston are successful, there’s no way that the Tampa Bay defense stops Kansas City’s rushing attack.

Even Chicago rushed for 122 yards against the Bucs’ D. The Chiefs’ top running back, Spencer Ware, is healthy. Ware should run all over KC while Alex Smith throws darts to TE Travis Kelce.

Chiefs cover the spread in Week 11.

Pick: Kansas City

Pittsburgh at Cleveland
When:  Sunday, Nov. 20 at 1:00 pm ET
Where: FirstEnergy Stadium, Cleveland, OH
TV: CBS
Odds: Pittsburgh -8

Analysis: The Pittsburgh Steelers travel to Cleveland licking their wounds after losing 35 to 30 to the Dallas Cowboys in Week 10. It sure looked as if Pitt had the game under control after Big Ben threw a 15-yard TD pass to Antonio Brown with 42 second left in the game. But then, Ezekiel Elliot rushed for a 32-yard TD with 9 seconds remaining.

It was Pittsburgh’s fourth straight loss. Luckily for the Steelers they face the worst team in the NFL, the Cleveland Browns, on Nov. 20. It’s hard to see Cleveland having any shot of stopping the Steelers from scoring close to 42 points in this battle.

I think that Pittsburgh beats Cleveland by over 20.

Pick: Pittsburgh
