NFL Lock Picks Week 6
Miami Dolphins at Atlanta Falcons
When: Sunday, October 15, 2017 at 1:00 PM ET
Where: Mercedes-Benz Stadium, Atlanta, GA
Stream: CBS Sports
NFL Odds: Atlanta -11.5
The Miami Dolphins are averaging a league-worst 10.3 points per game. They struggled to beat the Mariota-less Titans last weekend. Miami recorded only 178 total yards.
Now the question is can the Falcons cover the 11.5-point spread? Atlanta averages 26.8 points per game, 8th best in the NFL heading into Week 6. The Falcons have balanced their scoring attack, putting up five passing and 5 rushing TDs. Devonta Freeman has scored all five rushing while no player has caught more than one TD from Matt Ryan this season. Julio Jones has yet to find the end zone this season.
Lock Pick NFL Week 6 : Atlanta Falcons -11.5 Points
LA Rams at Jacksonville Jaguars
When: Sunday, October 15, 2017 at 4:05 PM ET
Where: EverBank Field, Jacksonville, FL
Watch: FOX Sports
Stream: Fox Sports Go
NFL Odds: Jacksonville -2.5
The Jaguars defense is the real deal. They held the Steelers to nine points at home while picking off Ben Roethlisberger five times, the most he has tossed in his career. CB Jalen Ramsey, in his second season, is playing at an elite level and is a future shutdown corner.
The Rams high-scoring offense stumbled against the Seahawks’ D last week. The Jags defense is a younger version of Seattle’s Legion of Boom. Rams’ QB Jared Goff was picked off three times last week while the team put up a total of 10-points. The Jags will follow Seattle’s gameplan and throw in a heavy dose of Leonard Fournette.
2017 NFL Week 6 Expert Pick: Jaguars -2.5.
Pittsburgh Steelers at Kansas City Chiefs
When: Sunday, October 15, 2017 at 4:25 PM ET
Where: Oakland Coliseum, Oakland, CA
Stream: CBS Sports
NFL Odds: Chiefs -4
KC doesn’t need the reminder while Pitt should take solace. The last time these two met, the Steelers beat the Chiefs 18-16 in the divisional round of the playoffs in January. While both teams had sky-high expectations, the Chiefs are the last undefeated team in the league and Pittsburgh has lost twice in three weeks.
This is the best Andy Reid’s Chiefs have looked in his tenure. Unique formations combined with speed and Alex Smith’s smarts has KC averaging 32.8 points per game, tops in the league. That’s not all, the Chiefs, thanks to rookie Kareem Hunt, have the second-best running attack with 156.2 rushing yards per game.
Big Ben always seems to bring his best against the Chiefs. He’s 5-1 as a starting quarterback in his career against Kansas City. That his highest win total against any team outside the AFC North.
His 118.7 quarterback rating against the Chiefs ranks as his best against any team he played more than twice.
