Bet The Los Angeles Rams at -2.5 Because…
The Rams kick off a new era after moving to Los Angeles in the offseason, but they’re starting mediocre veteran Case Keenum under center and still have underachieving head coach Jeff Fisher on the sideline, so I have to say I’m not overly impressed.
Rookie signal-caller Jared Goff, the No. 1 pick in the NFL Draft, still has a way to go before he’s NFL ready so Keenum is the best option available for Fisher right now.
Still, Keenum has thrown an underwhelming 15 career touchdown passes and nine interceptions and that just doesn’t inspire a lot of confidence. Still, the Rams have a superstar running back in Todd Gurley and a couple of playmaking wide receivers in Tavon Austin and Kenny Britt.
Despite their stellar defensive line, featuring guys like Aaron Donald and Robert Quinn, the Rams finished last season ranked 24th in total yards allowed and 13th in points allowed.
Bet The San Francisco 49ers at +2.5 Because…
The San Francisco 49ers will have a completely new look from the one they had a year ago as offensive-minded head coach Chip Kelly takes over.
Kelly will start former Jags QB Blaine Gabbert over controversial QB Colin Kaepernick. Behind the QB, the Niners do have some elite talent in the form of running back Carlos Hyde and playmaking wide receiver Torrey Smith.
Blaine Gabbert will be the #49ers starting QB vs the Rams.

Defensively, the Niners need to improve a defense that ranked a pitiful 30th in total yards allowed and mediocre 19th in points allowed. Still, there is talent, starting with stupendous Pro Bowl linebacker NaVorro Bowman.
NFL Week 1 MNF Expert Betting Pick
Maybe it’s me, but I’m still trying to figure out why the Rams are favored to beat san Francisco, seeing as how the Niners have the edge at quarterback (no matter who starts) and head coach.
While the Niners have gone just 2-7-1 ATS in their last 10 games against their NFC West division rivals, Frisco has also gone 5-0 ATS in their last five Week 1 games.
Conversely, the Rams are just 15-37-2 ATS in their last 54 games in the month of September and an uninspiring 1-4-1 ATS in their last six road games.
Call me crazy, but I think all of the drama surrounding Niners quarterback Colin Kaepernick is going to bring them closer together and make them better for it on the field. San Francisco beat L.A. at home last season and I believe they will do so again in this contest.
