Last week underdogs covered in ten of sixteen games. First, it was the Cowboys upsetting and beating the Saints in emphatic fashion on Thursday Night Football. Surprising upsets by heavy underdogs continued on Sunday. The Cardinals went into Lambeau and beat the Packers, the Giants beat the Bears and the dysfunctional Jags beat the Colts. There were a couple of almost moneyline upset wins by the Raiders over the Chiefs and Jets over the Titans. Now let’s take a look at where the moneyline upset value lies in NFL Week 14 action.
Moneyline Upset Picks NFL Week 14
Baltimore Ravens +245 at Kansas City Chiefs -290
When: Sunday, Dec. 9 at 1:00 pm ET
Where: Arrowhead Stadium, Kansas City, MO
Analysis: The Kansas City Chiefs weathered the loss of one of their top skill players, Kareem Hunt, in Week 13 to beat the Oakland Raiders 40-33. In Week 14, Kansas City hosts the team with the best defense in the NFL.
Baltimore went into Atlanta and held the Falcons to only 16 points. The Ravens have turned things around after their bye, winning 3 in a row and going 2-1 against the spread. Baltimore starting rookie quarterback Lamar Jackson hasn’t reminded anyone of Patrick Mahomes, but he has played well enough for the Ravens to win.
More importantly, Kansas City has reverted to the awful defense that they had in the crazy game with the Rams a couple of weeks ago. The Chiefs allow 414.7 yards on average. Jackson is a running quarterback that could have major success. KC is in line for an upset.
Moneyline Upset Pick: Baltimore Ravens +245
Philadelphia Eagles +165 at Dallas Cowboys -190
When: Sunday, Dec. 9 at 4:25 pm ET
Where: AT&T Stadium, Arlington, TX
Analysis: Those same expert analysts who said the Dallas Cowboys were done after they traded a Round 1 pick for Amari Cooper are eating their words. Dallas rides a 4-game win streak into their home battle with Philly on Dec. 9.
The Cowboys already beat Philadelphia earlier this season. There isn’t a lot that tells us the Eagles take down Big D in Week 14. But, this is a rivalry game and Philadelphia does believe it can win the NFC East.
Philadelphia will be plenty motivated while Dallas is coming off a high after leaving it all on the field in the win against New Orleans. I smell an upset brewing.
Moneyline Upset Pick: Philadelphia Eagles +165
L.A. Rams -165 at Chicago Bears +145
When: Sunday, Dec. 9 at 8:20 pm ET
Where: Soldier Field, Chicago, IL
Analysis: Things went the Rams way again in Week 13 when they beat the Detroit Lions on the road 30-16. The Rams finally covered the spread as well due to a late touchdown. L.A. now heads to Chicago to face the NFC North-leading Bears as a slight favorite.
Chicago’s a much better team than the Rams. The Bears rank 5th in points per. Chicago has the offensive weapons to keep pace with high-powered Rams. Not only that, but Khalil Mack and company will terrorize Rams quarterback Jared Goff. Plus it will be cold at Soldier Field this weekend. I am picking Chicago to upset L.A. by winning straight up.
Moneyline Upset Pick: Chicago Bears +145
