Preseason games might be considered a necessary evil for the average NFL fan due to lack of coverage and the fact that the starters only play for a few minutes in the first quarter, but for all of you die hard NFL its bliss and I am here to give you my NFL preseason week 1 betting picks so you can make some money while using the last few fleeting moments of your summer to do what really matters.

Here are the NFL Preseason Week 1 Picks
My NFL Preseason Week 1 Friday Picks
Miami Dolphins +3
Atlanta Falcons -3
Game time: 7 PM ET, Georgia Dome
Both Falcons coach Mike Smith (7-17) and Dolphins coach Joe Philbin (2-7) have horrible preseason football records. Quarterbacks are scheduled to start the game Matt Ryan and Ryan Tannehill and will play at least the first series in the game before giving it up to the backups.
I don’t the see Falcons leaving Friday’s game with a loss even after their forgettable season in 2013. With injuries taken care of their starting roster ready the Falcons should put the Dolphins in their place early and win the game in the 1st half.
Atlanta went 0-4 in the 2013 preseason and Miami 2-3 including the Hall Of Fame Game.
My NFL Betting Prediction: Falcons.
Buffalo Bills -2
Carolina Panthers +2
Over/ Under: 37.5
Game Time: 7:30 PM ET, Bank of America Stadium.
The Bills already lost this year, in last week’s Hall of Fame Game and showed very little spark on offense. With the addition of highly touted WR Sammy Watkins, QB EJ Manuel needs to step up his game or be shown the bench in 2014. Manuel will see the field a couple of series this Friday, and will try to sell the idea that he’s better suited for the job than Thad Lewis (10/16, 87 yards, 0 TDs, 1 INTs).
Panthers Coach Ron Rivera is 6-6 in the preseason but he went 3-1 last preseason. Without Steve Smith, this team will suffer. Reports are fuzzy on if Cam Newton will start for the Panthers, but even if he does he will not make an impact on the game.
My NFL Betting Prediction: Bills, they have last week’s game under their belt.
Oakland Raiders +3
Minnesota Vikings -3
Game Time: 8 PM ET, TCF Bank Stadium
Under coach Dennis Allen the Raiders are 2-6 in the preseason, but this team has gotten more talented since. Will a more talented roster equate to success on the field is to hard to tell yet, but a Vikings team that also has a lot to prove this season might be a good place to start.
Vikings rookie head coach Mike Zimmer will be relying on fellow rookie QB Teddy Bridgewater, who will be guided by offensive guru Norv Turner.
My NFL Betting Prediction: Vikings.
Philadelphia Eagles -1.5
Chicago Bears +1.5
Over/ Under: 41.5
Game Time: 8 PM ET, Soldier Field
Eagle’s head coach Chip Kelly and his quick no-huddle offense was 2-2 in his debut preseason with Philadelphia last year. With the Michael Vick experiment firmly in their rear-view mirror this team is ready to take the next step and I am standing with them

On the flip side Bears head coach and quarterback whisperer Marc Trestman also was 2-2 in his first NFL preseason and he has Jay Cutler riding high and a squad with talent on both sides of the ball.
My NFL Betting Prediction: Eagles.
My NFL Preseason Week 1 Sunday Picks
Green Bay Packers +1.5
Tennessee Titans -1.5
Game Time: 8 PM ET, LP Field
The only reason the Titans are favored is because they are playing at home and hope that Aaron Rodgers plays just the first series so they can work on keeping backup QB Matt Flynn in check.
Titan’s coach Ken Whisenhunt is horrible in the preseason with an 8-17 record, but every player on the Titan team is fighting for their starting job and they will be playing at 110% for the full 4 quarters.
Keep in mind Mike McCarthy also has a forgettable preseason record at 2-6.
My NFL Betting Prediction: Titans.
Cleveland Browns +2
Detroit Lions -2
Over/under: 40.5 points
Game Time: 7:30 PM ET, Ford Field
Let the Johnny Football show begin.
My NFL Betting Prediction: Browns
Pittsburgh Steelers +2
NY Giants -2
Over/ Under 37
Game Time: 7:30 PME ET, MetLife Stadium
The NY Giants topped the Buffalo Bills last week in the HOF game with QB Ryan Nassib going 7-12, for 139 yards and one touchdown. Head coach Tom Coughlin is 19-21 with the Giants in the preseason and 5-5 in week one games. Sad news comes from third year running back David Wilson, who retired days ago after an injury prone career.
Giants new "Packers" offense seems to fit Eli. Too many new faces to expect early results, but turnovers should drop significantly

The Steelers, on the other hand, have more than a decent record under Mike Tomlin with 19 win and ten losses in, although they went 0-4 a year ago. Tomlin is 4-4 in week one preseason matchups.
My NFL Betting Prediction: Steelers
