Why Bet The New Orleans Saints To Beat The Panthers
This game is critical for the winless Saints, who stumbled out of the gate with losses against the Vikings and the Patriots.
“These guys are grown men, and they understand the sense of urgency we have to play with and we have to practice with now starting with two losses,” New Orleans coach Sean Payton said.
In two losing efforts QB Drew Brees has thrown for 632-yards and three touchdowns and zero interceptions. The Saints have also only given up two sacks in two games. Brees and the Saints offense have scored poitns on over half of the team’s offensive drives. They will have to continue that feat if they want to beat the Panthers.
Why Bet The Carolina Panthers To Beat The Saints
The undefeated Panthers are allowing 3 points against per game and haven’t allowed a touchdown this season. Now only if their offense would catchup. Last Sunday’s 9-3 win over the Bills was field-goal powered alone. Losing All-Pro tight end Greg Olsen to a broken foot won’t help matters.
QB Cam Newton has commited to doing better after two games in which he misfired toward some open receivers.
“I just have to personally challenge myself that I have to be better and I will be better,” Newton said.
“I think with our veteran leadership, that is key,” Newton continued. “Offensively, guys believing in the plan and trusting in this whole process. We know everything is (not going) to be a walk in the park.”
