NFC Championship GameTheDuck
This is the defensive matchup of the year, the top two defenses will square off for the right to go to the Super Bowl, the 49ers made the trip last season but lost to the Ravens and have been wanting a chance at redemption, the road will be anything but easy as they have to get through the three headed monster up in Seattle. The Seahawks with QB Russell Wilson behind center, running back Marshawn Lynch behind him and the 12 th man who make it almost impossible to hear yourself think on that field have really set themselves up for a great run this year.
The 49ers got their top receiver in Michael Crabtree back from injury and he looks great in his rout running, these teams match up so perfectly together because they have great receivers against great corners and two of the top backs running against two of the best line defenses. QB Colin Kappernick will have to use his legs in this game when the plays break down, the running game will be important for the 49ers as Gore lead the way. I really do not expect either team to take too many chances and that is why their will not be too much scoring, this will be a defensive game all the way.
Seattle can smell the Super Bowl and nothing would make this season better than making it to New York in February but they need to be careful against the San Fran team, they are experienced and know how to pace a game. Seattle will really have to run the ball with authority and keep the 49ers defense on the field, controlling the clock. The down fall to Seattle is their receiving core, they have suffered some setbacks with Percy Harvin and others so the majority of the offense comes on the ground as Lynch pills through opposing teams.
The way I see this game playing out is simple, defend anything and everything and never let up on a play, this game will be a low scoring one given that Vegas set the total at 38.5. I see Seattle being too much for the 49ers down the stretch and the main problem will be the noise factor, the 12 the man will make things very hard on Colin in this game as will the temperature. The final score is Seattle 17 to 10.
