Why Bet On NYG To Beat Dallas (-5)
NYG’s passing attack should exploit Dallas’ issues in the secondary.
Great expectations abound in New York this season. Many expect QB Eli Manning and WR Odell Beckham Jr. to provide one of the top QB to WR combos in the NFL this season. Beckham Jr. caught 91 passes for 1305 yards and 12 touchdowns last season. The beauty about those numbers is that Beckham Jr. only played in 12 games. What would his numbers have been if he had played in all 16 regular season games?
Manning and Beckham Jr. dominated the Cowboys in the second meeting between the 2 teams. Beckham Jr. caught 10 Eli passes for 146 yards and 2 touchdowns. If the pair have increased their effectiveness together, it’s going to be difficult to see how they don’t post big numbers in this game.

The Cowboys have already had issues in their secondary. Orlando Scandrick, who was penciled in as one of Dallas’ starting corners, is on I-R. Scandrick had the best chance of stopping Beckham Jr. Without Scandrick, Eli and Odell could score at will against the Dallas defense in this Week 1 battle.
Why Bet On Dallas (-5) To Beat NYG
Dallas’ RBBC approach will still run wild on opposing defenses.
Dallas owner Jerry Jones turned some heads when he allowed DeMarco Murray, who rushed for 1845 yards and 13 TDs last season, to leave the Cowboys and head over to NFC East rival Philadelphia via free agency. But if the pre-season is any indication, and the events following the Cowboys’ final pre-season game, Dallas could be set to put an exceptionally talented rushing attack onto the field again this season.

The Cowboys averaged 4 yards a carry versus Minnesota’s terrific rush defense in their third NFL Pre-season game. Most of the yards were derived from the play of Darren McFadden. McFadden, who is injury prone, looked great rushing for a 9.2 average when rushing for 37 yards on only 4 carries.
But McFadden’s ability to run behind the best offensive line in football isn’t even the best news regarding Dallas’ rushing attack. Dallas sent a seventh round draft pick to Seattle for RB Christine Michael. Michael has a ton of talent. He never really got his chance at Seattle because he played behind one of the top running backs in the NFL in Marshawn Lynch.
Dallas doesn’t have a RB1 on their roster. Not only that, but those backing up McFadden didn’t show much during the pre-season. Michael should be able to serve as a viable option behind McFadden. Don’t be surprised if he and McFadden dominate this game versus the New York Giants in Week 1.
I am betting on the Cowbys to beat the G-Men in NFL week 1 action. They will also cover the 5-point spread, making the Cowboys an ATS winner. My final score prediction is Dallas 31, New York Giants 24.
