Why Bet on the Dallas Cowboys Odds at -2.5

The Cowboys looked solid in completely overwhelming Eli Manning and the New York Giants in their 19-3 Week 1 win against their longtime NFC East division rivals.

Now, second-year star quarterback Dak Prescott completed 24 of 39 passes for 268 yards and one touchdown while running back Ezekiel Elliott rushed for 104 yards on 24 carries.

"That’s what we expect every week," Elliott said. "We’re going to run the football. We’re going to show you different looks, but it’s going to be the same four plays. It’s going to be you versus us. You’ve got to stop us. You’ve got to be better than us."

Wide receiver Terrence Williams caught six passes for a team-high 68 yards while future Hall of Fame tight end Jason Witten caught a team-high seven passes for 59 yards and Dallas’ lone touchdown in the win. Williams however, has an ankle sprain and is questionable for this affair.

Defensively, the Cowboys sacked Manning three ties with DE Demarcus Lawrence picking up two in the dominating victory. Cornerback Anthony Brown picked off Manning once while linebacker Jaylon Smith forced a fumble.

Why Bet on the Denver Broncos Odds at +2.5

The Broncos got past the AFC West rival Chargers in Week 1, winning 24-21 despite nearly blowing a 24-7 lead. Quarterback Trevor Siemian completed 17 of 28 pass attempts for 210 yards with two touchdowns and one interception while rushing six times for 19 yards and one touchdown.

Running back C.J. Anderson rushed for a team-high 81 yards on 20 carries while veteran wide receiver Demaryius Thomas hauled in a team-high five catches for 67 yards. Fellow wideout Bennie Fowler II caught both of Siemian’s touchdown passes in the win.

Defensively, Denver picked off L.A. quarterback Philip Rivers once in the win while the Broncos won the time of possession battle by almost 10 full minutes. Now the Broncos are preparing to stop the blossoming Prescott and Dallas’ offense.

"He’s poised back there and he just doesn’t look like a second-year player," linebacker Von Miller said of Prescott. "Last year, he didn’t look like a rookie. He has one of the best, if not the best, offensive lines blocking for him and one of the best, if not the best, running back behind him.

Dallas Cowboys Vs Denver Broncos NFL Week 2 Betting Tips

I’m going to get right to the point by saying that I’m not overly impressed with Dallas’ Week 1 win as some folks, seeing as how New York never showed up and clearly failed to address their lack of a rushing attack in the offseason. While I’m also not very impressed with Denver’s offense, I do believe their defense is going to harass Dak Prescott into at least one costly turnover while mostly shutting down Ezekiel Elliott.

The Cowboys might be 10-4 ATS in their last 14 games following an SU win, but they’re also just 2-6 ATS in their last 8 games overall. Denver is 7-3-1 ATS in their last 11 home games and the home team in this little played Inter-conference rivalry is 4-1 ATS in the last 5 meetings. Simply put, I like Denver’s stout defense to lead them to the narrow win and ATS cover!

Pick: Denver -2.5
