Can Cousins and Washington Get A Home Upset Against Minnesota in Week 10 NFC Matchup

After pulling off one of the biggest upsets of the week last Sunday, Kirk Cousins and Washington will be looking for for a repeat performance when they host the defensive minded Minnesota Vikings in a suddenly intriguing Week 10 NFC clash at FedEx Field in Maryland on Sunday.

Washington and Minnesota will square off in the nation’s capitol at 1:00 PM ET with this matchup airing live on FOX TV. Now, let’s find out where the value in this contest lies.

Why Bet On Minnesota To Win

The Minnesota Vikings are on a nice roll, having won four straight games. The NFC North leaders are well-rested after getting a bye in Week 9 following their 33-16 smackdown of lowly Cleveland two weeks ago. Minnesota has also covered the chalk in three straight games and they haven’t allowed more than 17 points in an impressive six straight games. The Vikings are limiting their opponents to just 16.9 points per game this season to rank third in the NFL coming into their Week 10 matchup against Washington and they’re also putting up a respectable 22.4 points per game to rank 13th in scoring.

Why Bet On Washington To Win

Washington, on the other hand, has been a mostly inconsistent team that no one has been able to figure out through eights games. Still, Washington picked up a huge upset win by taking out Russell Wilson and the Seattle Seahawks 17-14 last week to both, snap a two-game skid – and cover the chalk as an 8-point road dog no less.

Still, Washington has not been very good in allowing 24.2 points per game to rank 24th in points allowed and they’ve largely struggled on offense this season in putting up just 22.1 points per contest (14th). The Skins have been smacked around twice by the division rival Eagles, yet they’ve also handed the high-scoring Rams, Raiders and defensive-minded Seahawks losses this season.

Free Pick Minnesota Vs Washington

While Washington enters their Week 10 matchup against Minnesota as 2.5-point home dogs, 58 percent of public bettors like them to win outright to cover the spread against the Vikings. So what is an NFL bettor to make out of the ‘mixed-mess’ that Washington has been this season?

Washington has created the perfect environment for another ‘upset’ win this coming weekend against a team it looks like they should have no business beating – and believe me – I know after picking them to fall in Seattle last weekend.

First and foremost, Minnesota has scored all of nine and seven points in losses against Pittsburgh and Detroit this season, so it’s not like they’re an offensive juggernaut or anything. Second, veteran quarterback Case Keenum is the quintessential definition of a mediocre veteran backup, not to mention, Washington is completely desperate to get back above .500 and keep their faint playoff hopes alive. Last but not least, every time I count out ‘Mr. You Like That’ Kirk Cousins, he shows me that he ‘s a pretty good quarterback in this league.

Minnesota is one of the best ATS teams around and that they’ve gone 23-8 ATS in their last 31 games following an ATS win and 19-7 ATS in the last 26 games following a straight-up win. However, they apparently don’t like bye weeks very much, seeing as how they’ve gone just 1-6 ATS in their last seven games following a bye.

Washington, strangely enough, is a perfect 5-0 ATS in their last five games in the month of November and 8-3 ATS in their last 11 games versus a team with a winning record. I’m betting on Washington for the home upset in this one and you should too!
