Over/Under Predictions NFL Preseason Week 1

Betting on a side during the first week of preseason football requires extra strength Pepto. So if you are looking to bet on NFL preseason Week 1 action use my predictions on which games will be high and low scoring for game total over/under bets.

NFL Preseason Week 1 Over-Under Predictions

Indianapolis Colts vs. Buffalo Bills: O/U 34 ½

With Andrew Luck sidelined for the majority of preseason action, the Colts will play Jacoby Brissett, Philip Walker, and Chad Kelly at quarterback in NFL preseason Week 1 action. They might also play Devin Funchess at wide receiver and tight end Eric Ebron. Both Funchess and Ebron must familiarize themselves with Indy’s playbook. The Colts could score some points.

Although Indianapolis might put up a couple of touchdowns, the Bills might not score more than 10 points. 10 might be asking too much from Buffalo’s second-string offense because the first-string offense averaged 16.8 points last season. This goes under.

Pick: Under 34 ½

Cincinnati Bengals vs. Kansas City Chiefs: O/U 37

Cincinnati wide receiver A.J. Green will miss regular-season games. He got hurt in the Bengals’ first training camp practice. Knowing Green is gone for a while, the Bengals will treat Tyler Boyd with kids gloves.

The Chiefs won’t take the chance on of their star players getting hurt in a preseason game. But, Kansas City’s defense allowed 26.3 points per last season. Also, the Chiefs’ second-stringers on offense can put up points against the Bengals second and third-string defense.

Pick: Over 37

L.A. Rams vs. Oakland Raiders: O/U 37

In 2018, the Raiders played in a single preseason game where the total went over 37. That was a Preseason Week 4 battle versus the Seattle Seahawks. The Rams played in two preseason games that went over 37 points last year.

Los Angeles only scored 7 points in their first preseason game in 2018, though. The Raiders? They scored only 16. This sets up as a snorer type battle between two coaches that just want their players to get a decent workout.

Pick: Under 37

Dallas Cowboys vs. San Francisco 49ers: O/U 36

Last year, the Cowboys and Niners combined for 45 points in Preseason Week 1. Although they might not combine for 45 points on August 9, the bars low at 36. Dallas will want to give tight-end Jason Witten playing time. Witten automatically becomes one of the top 5 tight-ends in the NFL.

He took a year off. So, he should be fresh. Even if Witten has a monster preseason game with two touchdowns, the 49ers might not score more than 10 points in this. It’s hard to see these two getting close to the 45 they posted in 2018. This should go under.

Pick: Under 36
