Bet The Carolina Panthers Because…

Carolina has won four straight in most impressive fashion, although they had a tough time putting away the feisty New York Jets in their 35-27 road win this past weekend although they managed to cover the spread as a 5.5-point road favorite. Cam Newton and Jonathan Stewart both rushed for a touchdown in the win, but Carolina allowed Jets veteran signal-caller Josh McCown to toss three TD passes in the win and that’s a bit worrisome with Drew Brees and the explosive Saints up next.

Bet The New Orleans Saints Because…

New Orleans put up a great effort last weekend, but they had their outstanding seven-game winning streak snapped in their narrow 26-20 road loss against the Los Angeles Rams even though Brees completed 22 of 32 passes for 246 yards and one touchdown and rookie running back Alvin Kamara added a team-high 87 rushing yards and one score on just five carries. New Orleans also recorded four sacks and one interception but came up just short despite outscoring L.A. 10-6 in the final quarter.

Panthers Vs Saints ATS Pick

While I don’t like the 4-point spread in this contest in a game that looks like a classic field goal finish just waiting to happen, I am going to advise you to go with the the 63 percent of public bettors that like the Saints to cover the chalk, likely by the skin of their collective teeth. New Orleans will have a bit of desperation in this game after falling last weekend and more often than not, I’m totally perplexed by Carolina’s ‘strange’ offense which features Cam Newton doing a bit too much too often and not enough of super-gifted rookie Christian McCaffery, if you ask me.

The Panthers are 0-5 ATS in their last five meetings against Carolina while New Orleans has gone a perfect 4-0 ATS in their last four games against their NFC South division rivals and 8-3 ATS in their last 11 games against their NFC counterparts overall. The Saints win and cash in, but just barely!

ATS Pick: New Orleans -4
