Patriots Vs Bills Spread & ATS Pick

The Buffalo Bills took advantage of Brady-less New England Patriots in Week 4. Buffalo’s 16-0 victory on Oct. 2 was also New England’s first shutout loss at Gillette Stadium and their first scoreless home game since 1993. Now the Bills have a chance to sweep the Patriots.

The two meet again this week and Brady will not have forgotten that loss while he was suspended. Week 8’s NFL betting spread favors the Patriots by 6.5-points. The game kicks-off on CBS this Sunday, October 30 at 1:00 PM ET, from the New Era Field, in Buffalo, New York.

Why Bet The New England Patriots To Beat The Bills

The Patriots are the best team in the NFL. They were hoping to show off their killer instinct against Pittsburgh last week. Even though they won by a 27-16 score, The Steelers weren’t at full strength with Big Ben out. As my gammy use to say "a win is a win is a win". New England is 6-1 SU and 6-1 ATS this season. They average 24.9 points per game this season (10th) and allow 15.3 points per game (4th).

Since QB Tom Brady (1004 yards, 8 TDs & 0 INTs) came back from suspension, the Patriots offensive numbers are off teh charts. With Brady, they averaged 31.6 points per game. Without Brady, 20.2. New England averages 260.9 passing yards per game (10th).

It’s not a surprise TE Rob Gronkowski (17 rec, 375 yards, 2 TDs) is the leading the team in receiving yards. He’s Brady’s number one target. TE Martellus Bennett (27 rec, 367 yards, 4 TDs) leads the team in touchdowns. The Patriots average 122.7 rushing yards per game (6th) RB LeGarrette Blount (143 car, 566 yards, 8 TDs) has been a monster this year. He has scored eight of the Patriots nine rushing touchdowns.

“It really doesn’t matter what happened last week, last month, last year,” Patriots coach Bill Belichick said about the Pats only loss this season. “What matters is what happens this week and that’s what we can control. We can’t control anything that’s happened in the past, so we’re going to try and focus on what we can do this week and prepare as well as we can to perform as well we can.”

New England has the 18th-ranked total defense in the NFL. They allow 259.0 passing yards per game (20th) and 92.3 rushing yards per game (11th). The Patriots have 11 sacks this season (24th). Logan Ryan leads the team with 45 tackles, and Jabaal Sheard has 3.5 sacks.

Why Bet The Buffalo Bills To Beat The Patriots

The Bills are coming off a disappointing 28-25 loss at Miami last week after winning four in a row. They now are 4-3 SU and 4-3 ATS. They average 26.7 points per game (6th) and allow 18.7 points per game (8th).

Buffalo averages 175.1 passing yards per game (31st). QB Tyrod Taylor (1297 yards, 9 TDs & 2 INTs) completed 14 of 28 passes for 221 yards and one touchdown against the Dolphins. TE Charles Clay (24 rec, 268 yards, 0 TDs) is the receiving yards leader without being impressive. WR Marquise Goodwin (12 rec, 258 yards, 3 TDs) is perhaps the most dangerous player in the receiving corp, but he’s dealing with a concussion.

The Bills average 152.3 rushing yards per game (2nd). The team’s leading rusher is LeSean McCoy (112 car, 598 yards, 6 TDs) and he is dealing with a hamstring injury.

“He never practiced this week, so you guys can figure that out,” coach Rex Ryan said after Friday’s practice.

Backup Mike Gillislee is expected to start if McCoy cannot play. The Bills listed Gillislee as questionable on their Friday injury report after he was limited in practice with a toe injury.

“I think he’ll be ready. I think he’ll be good,” Ryan said of Gillislee. “We [also] have Reggie Bush and Jonathan [Williams] if Shady [McCoy] can’t play, so I think we’ll be good there.”

Buffalo owns the 21st-ranked total defense in the NFL. They give up 236.0 passing yards per game (11th) and 125.0 rushing yards per game (27th). The Bills have recorded 21 sacks so far this season (2nd). Zach Brown has 74 tackles, and Lorenzo Alexander leads the NFL with 9.0 sacks.

Expert ATS Pick & Final Score Prediction

The public is overwhelmingly betting on the Patriots. I don’t blame them as they continue to steamroll since Tom Brady’s return. The wise money is was dropped at the lower lines (this game opened between -4 and -6.5 and all the lower numbers have disappeared). New England will also again be among the most popular teaser plays.

The Patriots are my Week 9 NFL spread betting pick. My final score prediction is New England 34, Buffalo 28.
