Las Vegas NFL oddsmakers have listed the Patriots as one touchdown favorites over the Broncos. The over/under is 46.5. New England is 6 and 2 straight up. The Patriots are 4 and 4 against the spread. Denver is 3 and 5 straight up. The Broncos are 2-5-1 against the spread.
Bet on New England Patriots -7 because…
The Broncos and Patriots are meeting for the seventh straight year in the regular season. New England has a 5-1 edge, with the only Denver win in 2015, when the Broncos advanced to the Super Bowl and beat Carolina.
The Patriots have been hot since losing 30 to 33 to Carolina on Oct. 1st. New England has gone 4 and 0 straight up in their last 4 games. The Patriots have also gone 3 and 1 against the spread in their last 4 games.
Coach Bill Belichick said the Patriots’ defensive issues are being addressed.
“We’re just trying to improve every week — fundamentals, overall execution and techniques,” he said. “We’re trying to coach better. Just a lot of little things, probably.”
Bet on Denver Broncos +7 because…
The Denver Broncos are due for some luck. Coach Vance Joseph benched QB Trevor Siemian for Brock Osweiler in Denver’s unbelievable 23 to 51 loss to the Eagles in NFL Week 9. Notice the score? Denver’s defense lost the game as much as their anemic defense. Osweiler did throw 2 interceptions.
Patriots quarterback Tom Brady said the Broncos’ defense can’t be overlooked. Denver has the league’s second-ranked defense, though it was overrun in last week’s loss to the Eagles, hurt by two offensive turnovers that set up short fields for Philadelphia.
“There’s little margin for error when you go out there,” Brady said. “They have a great defense. They have great players on both sides of the ball. You can’t go out there and make a bunch of mistakes and expect to win.”
Luck. Denver’s due for some.
Patriots Vs Broncos Final Score Prediction
No luck in the world should keep this one close on Sunday night. Denver could grab all the luck from every fortune cookie ever created and they’d still lose by at least 10 points to the New England Patriots.
The reason is simple. Teams that beat the Patriots are excellent at taking advantage of New England’s biggest flaw on defense: the Patriots’ secondary. New England’s D allows 295.5 passing yards per game. That ranks last in the NFL.
Denver, with Peyton Manning, might have had a shot to take advantage of New England’s horrible pass defense. Manning no longer plays for Denver. Trevor Siemian, Paxton Lynch, and Brock Osweiler do.
Can any of those guys take advantage of the Patriots’ pass defense? Probably not. Not only that, but word is that Paxton Lynch should get the start. Lynch has never started a game in the NFL.
Patriots by at least 17 points seems like a real possibility.
