Peyton Manning Super Bowl 50 Betting Props

  1. Peyton Manning Total Completions
    Over 21.5                   -115
    Under 21.5                 -115
Since returning from the injury, the best that Peyton has done is throw 21 completions against San Diego in Week 17 and 21 completions against Pittsburgh in Denver’s Divisional Round win. Peyton threw only 17 completions against New England’s defense in the AFC Championship. But, Carolina’s defense isn’t always that great in the secondary. Matt Ryan completed 23 passes for over 300 yards against the Panthers in Week 16. Jameis Winston had 29 completions in Week 17. Russell Wilson threw 31 completions in Carolina’s Divisional Round game while Carson Palmer threw 23 completions even though he also threw 4 interceptions in the NFC Championship. I like over 21.5.
    Pick: Over 21.5
  2. Peyton Manning Total Passing Yards
    Over 238.5                 -115
    Under 238.5               -115
At first glance this looks like a no-brainer pick to under 238.5. Peyton has thrown for 69 yards, 222 yards and 176 yards since returning from the injury. But after some research, it looks like Peyton might have a much better game at Super Bowl 50 than many football handicappers realize. The Carolina defense has given up some huge games to quarterbacks this season. Aaron Rodgers threw for 369 yards against Carolina. Matt Ryan threw for 306 yards. In Carolina’s last 3 games before the Super Bowl, Jameis Winston threw for 325 yards, Russell Wilson threw for 366 yards and Carson Palmer threw for 235. Manning should do better than Palmer did. I like over.
    Pick: Over 238.5
  3. Peyton Manning Will He Throw an Interception?
    Yes                  -215
    No                   +175
Here’s the no-brainer pick. Peyton threw 17 interceptions on the season while tossing only 9 touchdown passes. He played in a total of 12 games counting the playoffs. Peyton’s average interception thrown per game was 1.4. Like Cam, he completes less than 60% of his passes on average. It’s doubtful that Peyton doesn’t throw at least 1 pick in Super Bowl 50.
    Pick: Yes
  4. Peyton Manning Longest Completion
    Over 34.5 Longest Completion       -115
    Under 34.5 Longest Completion     -115
This is an interesting prop in that unlike the Panthers, who play a vertical, long passing game, the Broncos’ passing game, especially in the Super Bowl, is about yards after the catch. Coach Gary Kubiak and Peyton know his limitations. He doesn’t have the arm strength to stretch the defense. What Kubiak and Peyton are going to do is try and throw the football 15 to 20 yards down field and hope to have the pass-catcher run with it. That could lead to a completion that’s over 34.5 yards. But, since the Panthers are very good at tackling, it’s unlikely that the Broncos get the catch and long run.
    Pick: Under 34.5 Longest Completion
