NFL Preseason Week 1 Parlay PicksJosh Bailey
The 2016 NFL Season will have to wait another week to kick-off with the Hall-of-Fame game being cancelled due to poor field conditions. Therefore the first week of NFL Preseason starts on Thursday, August 11.

Are there any winning parlay picks to bet on in the NFL for preseason week 1 action? Can Chicago cover a less than 2 point spread at home versus Denver? Will Minnesota take it to Cincinnati on the road? Has Chip Kelly made a difference with the lowly 49’ers?
NFL Preseason Week 1 Two-Team Parlay Pick
- Chicago -1.5
- Minnesota +3
Denver at Chicago
When: Thursday, Aug. 11 8:00 pm ET
Odds: Chicago -1.5
Nobody knows for sure who is going to start for the Broncos at quarterback. Not that it matters. Denver hasn’t lost a Week 1 NFL Preseason game since the 2011-2012 season. Great news if you want to bet on Denver, right?
Not so fast. The Broncos are going to be cagey with their game plan this season since it’s likely that Mark Sanchez will have to start at QB. Chicago has a lot of young, tough, hungry players who are just looking to make the roster. I like to take the young team over the veteran team in preseason games. This is especially true in Week 1 when most of the starters are on the bench.
Pick: Chicago -1.5
Minnesota at Cincinnati
When: Friday, Aug. 12 at 7:30 pm ET
Odds: Cincinnati -3
How good are the Minnesota Vikings? Their first game in NFL Preseason won’t give us a clue. Since Mike Zimmer became their head coach 2 seasons ago, the Vikings have gone 8 and 1 straight up in their last 9 NFL Preseason games. Cincinnati went 3 and 1 straight up in their preseason games last season.
The way I see it, the Bengals are solidified on both sides of the ball. Minnesota needs to get their offensive line to gel. So, once the Bengals pull their starters on defense, the Vikings might keep their starting offensive linemen in the game for longer just to see if the big guys up front can develop a rhythm. I think the 3 points are going to mean a lot in this matchup.
Pick: Minnesota +3
NFL Preseason Week 1 Three-Team Parlay Pick
- Chicago -1.5
- Minnesota +3
- San Francisco -3
Houston at San Francisco
When: Sunday, Aug. 14 at 7:00 pm ET
Odds: San Francisco -3
Oddsmakers and NFL bettors are so chilly on the 49’ers this season that they’re a 3-point underdog at home against the Houston Texans in their Week 1 preseason game. That’s somewhat incredible considering that Houston isn’t likely to play its starters, on offense or defense, for more than a single series or two.
Last season, as the head coach at Philadelphia, Chip Kelly went all out in his team’s Week 1 NFL Preseason game. Philadelphia scored 36 points in a 36 to 10 rout of Indianapolis. The conservative Texans won’t match Kelly’s offense on Sunday.
Pick: San Francisco
