NFL Preseason Week 3 ATS Hitlist
Carolina Panthers vs. New England Patriots -4 ½
So far after two games in the preseason, the Patriots are 2-0 against the spread. New England seems to be in midseason form already. The Pats got some good news this week when Josh Gordon was reinstated. How much Gordon helps the passing attack remains to be seen. He hasn’t played football for a while.
Expect Tom Brady and Gordon to try and develop a rapport in this game. The Panthers should play their starters plenty, but it won’t be enough to upset the Patriots ATS.
Pick: New England Patriots
Jacksonville Jaguars vs. Miami Dolphins -1
At least the Jaguars scored in their second preseason game. The Jags put up 10 points versus the Baltimore Ravens. But for the second straight week, Jacksonville’s defense failed to keep a team from scoring at least 24 points. The Eagles dropped 29 onto the Jags. Sure, this is the preseason. Still, you should show some fire out there on the gridiron. Miami easily covers the spread.
Pick: Miami Dolphins
Cleveland Browns -1 vs. Tampa Bay Buccaneers
The Browns have looked great in a couple of preseason games. The offense was on point versus the Colts in Week 2 when it put 21 on the scoreboard. Cleveland faces a more difficult task against a Tampa squad whose starters will play most of this game. Tampa’s defense improved from preseason Week 1 to preseason Week 2. Tampa Bay allowed 30 points in Week 1. They allowed only 14 in Week 2. The Bucs should cover.
Pick: Tampa Bay Buccaneers
Houston Texans vs. Dallas Cowboys pk
The Zeke-less Dallas Cowboys face a Houston Texans team that has scored 26 points and 30 points. However, Dallas’s defense has been tight during the preseason. It humbled the 49ers when only allowing 9 points in Week 1. In Week 2, the Cowboys gave up 10 points to the Rams. Dallas to cover is the play.
Pick: Dallas Cowboys
San Francisco 49ers vs. Kansas City Chiefs
Patrick Mahomes only threw 5 passes for the KC Chiefs in the 7-17 Week 2 loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers. Mahomes should play at least a half on Saturday. A half will be more than enough for Kansas City to get a lead. They’ll never look back, winning and covering the spread.
Pick: Kansas City Chiefs
Seattle Seahawks vs. L.A. Chargers -1
The Bolts lost an entertaining 17-19 preseason Week 2 battle to the New Orleans Saints. Los Angeles should play Philip Rivers in this. Rivers figures to really test Seattle’s defense. Chargers cover.
Pick: Los Angeles Chargers
