NFL Preseason Week 4 Free PicksJosh Bailey
NFL Preseason Week 4 is finally here. Teams rest their starters for all NFL Preseason Week 4 games. That should make the games interesting.
Jacksonville heads to Atlanta to battle the Falcons. Can Jacksonville add a win, and some momentum, going into the regular season? Baltimore battles New Orleans in Week 4. Which team gets it done when the Saints host the Ravens? The final game I like for my NFL Preseason Week 4 Picks has Tennessee traveling to Kansas City. Will KC or the Titans come up big?
NFL Preseason Week 4 Free Picks
Jacksonville at Atlanta
When: Thursday, Aug. 31 at 7:00 pm ET
Where: Mercedes-Benz Stadium, Atlanta, GA
Odds: Atlanta -1
Analysis: Did I just write that every team in NFL Preseason Week 4 is going to rest their starters? I suppose, I did. Well, I was wrong to write that.
There’s a good chance that Jacksonville plays Chad Henne and Blake Bortles on Thursday. Why? The Jaguars haven’t decided who their starting quarterback is on opening day. It could be Bortles. Or, it could be Henne.
If the Jags decide who their starter is before this game, expect the other guy to get plenty of reps. Either way, Jacksonville has the upper hand on the Atlanta Falcons, who have already filled every starting position on their roster.
Pick: Jacksonville by at least 6 points
Baltimore at New Orleans
When: Thursday, Aug. 31 at 8:00 pm ET
Where: Mercedes-Benz Superdome, New Orleans, LA
Odds: New Orleans -1
Analysis: The New Orleans Saints can’t take the chance of allowing their offensive linemen to get hurt. The Saints are already thin at offensive line. Round 1 pick Ryan Ramczyk must be healthy for Week 1.
So, do you think there’s any way coach Sean Payton puts his starting running backs and his top 2 quarterbacks in harm’s way behind his second string, probably third string, offensive line? Nope.
By default, the Baltimore Ravens win this game straight up because they’ll most likely play their second string offensive line while the Saints can’t take the chance of not playing offensive linemen that won’t even suit up during the NFL Regular Season.
Pick: Baltimore by at least 4 points
Tennessee at Kansas City
When: Thursday, Aug. 31 at 8:30 pm ET
Where: Arrowhead Stadium, Kansas City, MO
Odds: Kansas City -1
Analysis: The KC Chiefs are already without RB Spencer Ware. I don’t see Charcandrick West or Kareem Hunt getting any carries in this game. Tennessee’s defense is fantastic against the rush as it is.
NFL Preseason Week 4 is when Andy Reid sort of mails it in. Although KC has won their last 2 preseason Week 4 games, I don’t believe it happens this week, he usually rests his starters and just gets some things together before preparing his team for the regular season.
Tennessee should win by at least 6 points because Derrick Henry gets some carries and the Titans’ offensive line can block for any running back. I like the Titans.
Pick: Tennessee by at least 6 points
