The QB Hot Seat In Minnesota

After the breaking news that the Buccs had released their QB Josh Freeman, the Vikings swooped in and picked him up on a one year $3 million dollars deal, it’s well known that current Vikings QB Christian Ponder is not getting the job done as the team hold a 1-3 record, expect to see Freeman on the field quickly if they lose again. The Panthers are going through their own issues yet again, after having an amazing rookie year, the rest of the League has figured out how to play Cam Newton, rendering him almost useless.

The Panthers have holes all over their team; the defense seems to just not be able to keep up with who they are covering while a sack seems like a distant memory for that front seven. They need to really move the ball; getting Steve Smith more active in the game will boost their passing offense, getting a few more running plays for Newton which as we all know is his bread and butter could help boost his confidence as well. I honestly think it’s time for a head coaching change as the Panthers need to inject some freshness to this team.

The Vikings are having just a terrible time moving the ball, if it wasn’t for running back Adrian Peterson rushing for 421 yards and 5 touchdowns this team would have only 2 offensive scores in the last 5 weeks. They too need an injection of fresh air as they look to get their franchise back to where they know they can be. Defensively they have shown that they can make the plays but not when they are spending 75% of the game on the field, they need the offense to put some points on the board and use up the clock too, rest is key for this defense.

What to Expect:
The Vikings still come into this game at -3 for NFL game spreads, the Panthers have shown problems against the run and this is the type of game that Adrian Peterson needs to really explode, I doubt that the Panthers look to run the ball too much for their part given the Vikings ability to hold the line. this will be a running game Minnesota and everything will depend on how good Carolina defends it, but from what I have seen the Panthers will push the ball through the air as their running game is horrible, but it won’t be enough, the Panthers loss this game and i expect a coaching change in the next few weeks for them.
