NFL Season Opener Pick – Green Bay Packers Vs. Seattle SeahawksJosh Bailey
If you’re looking to cash in on some Week 1 NFL betting odds, then you’ll have a great chance to do that on Thursday night in the 2014 NFL regular season opener. The Green Bay Packers and the Seattle Seahawks will both look to get their 2014 seasons off to a positive start when they square off at CenturyLink Field.

Green Bay (8-8-1 SU,7-9-1 ATS) looked great in winning each of their last three preseason games against St. Louis, Oakland and Kansas City , but they’ll face a different caliber of team when they visit the defending Super Bowl champion Seattle Seahawks in this opener.
“It’ll be a good time. Like I said, the atmosphere will be great. The stage will be great. You always like playing on national TV, you know. Everyone’s watching and like you said, it’s a great opportunity for all of us. These are the games we look forward to, you know. This will be about probably as close as you can get to a playoff game,” Packers WR Jordy Nelson said.
Seattle (16-3 SU,13-6 ATS) went 2-2 SU and ATS in the preseason but topped the 30-point plateau three times.

NFL Season Opener Pick – Green Bay Packers Vs. Seattle Seahawks
Analysis: I’ll get right to the point by saying that I really like the Packers to win this contest – and I think they’ll find a way to narrowly cover the spread against a Green Bay team I think will be a lot better later in the season than they’re going to be early on.
The Seahawks will undoubtedly want to deliver a message, not only to the Packers, but to the rest of the NFC – and the entire league for that matter. Seattle is 8-2 ATS in its last 10 games while Green Bay has compiled a dismal 2-7-1 ATS in its last 10 games, though most of those came without starting quarterback Aaron Rodgers under center.
Still, the Seahawks are 16-5 ATS in its last 21 home games and Green Bay has not traditionally gotten off to a good start, going 1-4 ATS in their last five games in September.
The Seahawks beat Green Bay 14-12 to cash in as a 3-point home dog back in September of 2012 and I think a similar outcome is going to take place in this one. The Home team is 3-1-2 ATS in their last 6 meetings and the Over is 3-1-1 in the L/5 meetings.
