The Kansas City Chiefs are 3-point favorites when they host the Seattle Seahawks. The NFL week 2 preseason game kicks off at 8:00PM ET from Arrowhead Stadium. Both teams faced off in Kansas City last season in week 11 where the Chiefs won by a 24-20 score.

KC head-coach Andy Reid said that his starters will play close to a half. That means we will get a big dose of QB Alex Smith, RB Jamaal Charles and WR Jeremy Maclin. Then the Chiefs second and third stringers will play cleanup. Last week, there was a revelation for the Chiefs with veteran backup QB Chase Daniel and WR Fred Williams. Daniel threw three touchdown passes to receivers. Williams caught six balls for 82 yards and a touchdown.

“We have to sort of find our motto, sort of find how we’re gonna be on offense, how we’re gonna be on defense, special teams, how we’re gonna pull together as a team,” Daniel told the Kansas City Star.

Last week also marked the return of stud safety Eric Berry after beating Hodgkin’s lymphoma. The Chiefs will easy Berry back into a starter. He will need more than the eight snaps he played last week if Andy Reid wants him back in form.

"He’s still got a ways to go," defensive coordinator Bob Sutton said. "The thing that I said before, the thing people forget about Eric, is that he missed a lot of last season.

"So this is really a chance to get back into football, the fundamentals of his position, and I think every day out there talking with him he’s becoming more comfortable. Like I said earlier, we are going to follow his rhythm and whatever he feels, that’s what we are going to follow. So far it has been really good."

QB Alex Smith (3265 yds, 18 TDs, 6 INTs) LB Josh Mauga (103 tackles)
RB Jamaal Charles (1033 yds, 9 TDs) S Kurt Coleman Thomas (3 INTs)
TE Travis Kelce (862 yds, 5 TDs) LB Justin Houston (22.5 sacks)

The Seahawks look primed for another Super Bowl run. They resigned QB Russell Wilson. Beastmode committed to returning this season. GM John Schneider was responsible for the coup of the season after acquiring stud TE Jimmy Graham.

Seattle does have a huge problem and it is will their defense. Currently the only member of the Legion Of Boom that is healthy is CB Richard Sherman. CB Byron Maxwell is an Eagle. S Earl Thomas is recovering from surgery to repair a torn labrum in his shoulder.

"It’s been very tough," Thomas told Stephen Cohen of "A lot of negative thoughts in my mind. You know, I was debating if I still loved it at one point, but being out here today, it reassured me that I loved it. I just need to be out here. I just need to be involved."

The one problem the Seahawks brain-trust could solve would be signing S Kam Chancellor, who is holding out.
