NFL Spread Betting Free Pick – Tampa Bay Buccaneers vs. New Orleans Saints

NFC Divisional Round Betting Prediction – New Orleans at Seattle

NFL Spread Betting Free Pick – Tampa Bay Buccaneers vs. New Orleans Saints

Despite their almost inversed records, the Saints and Bucs have been very tough takes in NFL spread betting free picks this entire season and both have plenty of reasons to be concerned about their immediate and long term futures. The Saints will know if they can catch the Carolina Panthers, who play against Atlanta earlier in the day, have clinched the division and the second seed in the NFC. And if Arizona somehow upsets the Niners, which I don’t expect to actually happen, the Saints could be on the verge of seeing their playoff hopes vanish in to thin air.

The Saints are an extremely popular team overall, but they’ve been a disaster in the sportsbook lately and gamblers have taken notice. I haven’t been able to encourage a play on the Saints in my NFL spread betting free picks for weeks, and their 1-5 ATS record in the past 6 games has proven why. They tend to play better at home, but this is a gargantuan number for even the Saints to cover.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers vs. New Orleans Saints
The New Orleans Saints are 13 point favorites over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in the NFL regular season finale.
Starts: 12/29/2013 4:20PM
Mercedes-Benz Superdome, Sugar Bowl Drive
New Orleans, Louisiana

New Orleans has a staggering +17.4 point differential when playing in the Superdome this year, so if you want to back them on their home field you’re more than welcome to. But I think that New Orleans will be very distracted by the messy afternoon slate that features a bunch of NFC contenders jockeying for post season position. This Saints team can not afford to lose focus in this game, but it will be unavoidable no matter what anyone tries to tell you.

This brings us to Tampa, a team that looked like an outright disaster at the beginning of the season, but cleaned up their act since jettisoning the cancerous Josh Freeman from their ranks. They may not have an impressive overall record, but they’re also 5-3 ATS in their last 8 games. They’ve been a more reliable entity in my NFL spread betting free pick down the stretch, and with nothing to play for after this game, I expect them to leave it all on the field.

Quarterback Mike Glennon has been inconsistent at best, and he’s playing with a fourth string running back in Bobby Rainey who wasn’t even on the team in September. And while Tampa has a bad history against New Orleans with a 1-3 SU and ATS record in their past four meetings, the Saints don’t really have a lot to stand on besides their ability to play very well at home. This game is more of a hunch play than anything else. I just don’t completely trust New Orleans, and with so many extra curricular factors impacting their fate, I just can’t see how they cover against a Tampa team that will be dialed in and ready to end their season on a positive note. The upset victory isn’t realistic, but a cover is, especially given the large number on this one.
