Steelers Vs Bengals Monday Night Football OddsJosh Bailey
With the Cincinnati Bengals sitting in eight place, but just one game behind three other teams in the AFC playoff race, they’re definitely desperate for a victory as they get set for their Week 13 matchup against longtime AFC North division rival Pittsburgh.
With Big Ben Roethlisberger and company tied for first place in the conference with Tom Brady and New England, they’d like nothing better than to pick up some more wins that could help them nail down home-field advantage throughout the AFC playoffs.
Steelers Vs Bengals Monday Night Football Odds
Pittsburgh Steelers (9-2) at Cincinnati Bengals (5-6)
When: Monday, December 4, 2017 at 8:30 PM ET
Where: Paul Brown Stadium, Cincinnati, OH
NFL Odds: Pittsburgh -6.5
The Steelers are sitting pretty at 9-2 and come into this contest riding an impressive six-game winning streak. However, Pittsburgh struggled in their narrow 31-28 win last weekend against a Green Bay Packers team that has been pretty damned awful ever since they lost Aaron Rodgers to a broken collarbone.
Ben Roethlisberger threw four TD passes in the win, but also tossed two ugly interceptions. The Steelers also allowed uninspiring Packers backup quarterback Brett Hundley to throw three TD passes after he entered the game with just two touchdown passes – and seven interceptions – in four-plus starts. Pittsburgh is ranked a stellar fourth in points allowed (17.5 ppg), but they’re also ranked a modest 12th in scoring (23.5 ppg) and don’t look quite as explosive as they have in recent seasons.
Cincinnati has won two straight and laid a 30-16 smackdown on lowly Cleveland last weekend as Andy Dalton tossed two TD passes and no interceptions and rookie running back Joe Mixon rushed for 114 yards and one score. While Cincinnati looked to improve their offense coming into this season, the Bengals are ranked a modest 25th in scoring (18.1 ppg), but they have been solid defensively in ranking 10th in points allowed (19.5 ppg).
While a whopping 66 percent of public bettors like the Steelers to win and cover the spread as near, touchdown road favorites, I’m going to advise you to back the Bengals in this one. Cincinnati is completely desperate and they have a pretty good defense, plus, something just feels off about the Steelers to me this season, despite their fantastic record.
The Steelers are 5-0-1 ATS in their last six games following an ATS loss and 12-3 ATS in their last 15 games in the month of December, but the Bengals are 5-1 ATS in their last six games in December, 4-1 ATS in their last five games in Week 13 and an identical 4-1 ATS in their last five games following an ATS win. Maybe it’s my recent head cold, but I smell an upset in this one!
Pick: Cincinnati +6.5
