While the quarterback battles have settled in Cleveland, Washington, Houston and probably in Tennessee, the Buffalo Bills are still in limbo. Head coach Rex Ryan just may be playing coy.
While EJ Manuel will start the game, it is widely rumored that Ryan is leaning towards choosing dynamic QB Tyrod Taylor as the starter, but other coaches reportedly prefer Matt Cassel because he is consistent.
"This was the scenario I wanted," Ryan is quoted in the Buffalo News . "I wanted a scenario where all three guys performed at a high level and I think we have. When you look at the games that I think all three guys have performed at a really high level, and so that’s what exactly I was wanting. If I was a betting man going in to it would I have said that? I’m not sure. But I’m glad it’s working out the way it is."
The Bills are 1-1 in this preseason, but Taylor went 7-10 against the Cleveland Browns last week, without a touchdown pass or an interception. Manuel completed 9 of 14 passes for 111 yards, one score, and no picks. Matt Cassel didn’t see the field.
|2014 Offensive Leaders||2014 Defensive Leaders|
|QB Kyle Orton (3018 yds, 18 TDs, 10 INTs)||LB Preston Brown (109 tackles)|
|RB Fred Jackson (525 yds, 2 TDs)||CB Leodis McKelvin (4 INTs)|
|WR Sammy Watkins (982 yds, 6 TDs)||DE Mario Williams (14.5 sacks)|
The Pittsburgh Steelers are more than set in the quarterback position with Ben Roethlisberger, who is coming off a year where he led the league in passing yards while tossing just 9 INTs. The Steelers did surprise everyone by signing Michael Vick to a one year contract after losing Bruce Gradkowski to a finger injury.
Can the Steelers trust Mike Vick to be ready to play if they need him? http://t.co/bX2l4rHK0x

The Steelers are 1-2 so far in the 2015 preseason. They get an extra preseason game this year with the HOF game. The Steelers will have to learn to live without stud center Maurkice Pouncey who may be lost for the whole season after breaking his ankel last week.
"He got rolled up on but he walked it off,” Steelers right tackler Marcus Gilbert was quoted in the LA Times . "I was hoping that it wasn’t nothing too bad. Once he got carted off, it struck me.”
|2014 Offensive Leaders||2014 Defensive Leaders|
|QB Ben Roethlisberger (4952 yds, 32 TDs, 9 INTs)||LB Lawrence Timmons (132 tackles)|
|RB Le’Veon Bell (1361 yds, 8 TDs)||CB William Gay (3 INTs)|
|WR Antonio Brown (1698 yds, 13 TDs)||DE Cameron Heyward (7.5 sacks)|
My NFL Preseason Week 3 Betting Pick: Steelers +3
When picking a winner to bet on, I am picking the team who has stability and leadership. The Bills have a great defense, backfield and wide receivers. The only piece they are missing is the most important one. The QB.
HC Rex Ryan is 12-14 in the preseason during his career. The Bills are 2-5 ATS in their last 7 games as a favorite, 7-3 ATS in their last 10 games as a favorite of 0.5-3.0 points, 5-1 ATS in their last 6 games overall, and 4-1 ATS in their last 5 vs. AFC.
Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin is 20-15 during the preseason. The Steelers are 4-1 ATS in their last 5 Saturday games, 7-2 ATS in their last 9 games as an underdog, 4-1 ATS in their last 5 games overall.
