Super Bowl 50 Betting Cheat SheetJosh Bailey
Super Bowl 50 is set. Denver takes on Carolina in what should be one of the more interesting Super Bowls that we’ve had in a long time. The preseason Super Bowl 50 betting odds on Denver to win were 10 to 1. Only 5 teams had lower odds than Denver to win Super Bowl 50. Carolina was a 60 to 1 preseason long shot to win the Vince Lombardy Trophy. Only 9 teams had higher odds than Carolina to win Super Bowl 50.

Best Super Bowl 50 Bet For Your Buck:
Denver +175 Money Line
As of right now, the odds are sweet on the team with the best defense in the NFL to beat the Carolina Panthers in Super Bowl 50. Based on stats, Carolina has a very good defense. But, as it has been pointed out by more than just I since the Super Bowl 50 match up was set this past Sunday, Carolina played most of their games with a big lead this season. It’s Carolina’s offense that averages over 31 points per game that lead to the great Carolina defensive stats.
Denver has the better defense. More importantly, QB Peyton Manning understands his limitations. He didn’t force anything in the Broncos 20 to 18 win over New England in the NFC Championship Game. The money line odds are too good to pass up in my opinion.
Best Super Bowl 50 Prop Bets:
Broncos to Win Both Halves +700
If the Broncos win this game, they’re probably not going to be playing from behind in either half. The game should be close, but the odds are much greater on Denver to be leading after both halves than it is on Carolina to be leading at both halves. Take the good odds. You’ll have the better defense with the experienced, future hall of fame QB, and experienced coaching staff against a young team in Super Bowl 50.
First Score of the Game Will Be a Field Goal +140
Both defenses are very good on third down. Once their opponent gets into the red zone in this game, the third down defense should be even better than it normally is because there’s less field for the offenses to work with. Denver allows for a 35% third down conversion rate on defense. Carolina allows for a 37.9% third down conversion rate on defense. The odds are awfully nice for the first score to be a field goal.
Total Touchdowns Scored Under 4 ½ +165
Over 4 ½ means 5 touchdowns. That’s 30 points not counting the extra point. That’s a lot of points for 2 teams that have defenses that are stingy overall. Denver yields 18.5 points per game on average. Carolina yields 19.2 points per game on average. Plus, both teams figure to really get stingy once the opposing team gets into the red zone.
