2016 Thanksgiving Day NFL Parlay Picks

Will Detroit beat Minnesota at home in a shocking game for the lead in the NFC North? Who wins in the Thursday rivalry game versus Washington and Dallas in Big D? Can Indianapolis continue its surge to the AFC South title by taking down Pittsburgh on Nov. 24?

Thanksgiving Day NFL 2-Team Parlay Parlay Pick

  • Detroit -3
  • Dallas -7

What: Minnesota Vikings (6-4) at Detroit Lions (6-4)
When: Thursday, November 24, 2016
Start Time: 12:30 PM ET
Where: Detroit, MI
Stadium: Ford Field
Spread: Lions -3
Moneyline: Minnesota +130 vs Detroit -150
Game Total: 42.5
Watch: CBS
Stream: CBS Sports
Listen: Minnesota vs Detroit

Analysis: It’s hard to look past Detroit at home. Then again, the Lions haven’t been nearly as impressive as Minnesota during the season. Or…have they?

Detroit’s defense is what is what football bettors should pay attention to. Sure, Matthew Stafford has been a revelation at quarterback now that Megatron has retired. Stafford has a fantastic 101.2 QB rating. He’s thrown only 5 picks to 18 touchdowns this season.

But it’s the Lions’ D that should allow them to cover the spread in this game. The Lions’ defense hasn’t allowed 20 points or more in 4 straight games. This includes Detroit’s 22 to 16 win over the Vikings in Minnesota on Nov. 6.

I think Detroit wins and covers.

Pick: Detroit -3

What: Washington (6-3-1) at Dallas Cowboys (9-1)
When: Thursday, November 24, 2016
Start Time: 3:30 PM ET
Where: Arlington, TX
Stadium: AT&T Stadium
Spread: Cowboys -7
Moneyline: Washington +285 vs Dallas -357
Game Total: 48.5
Watch: FOX Sports
Stream: Fox Sports Go
Listen: Washington vs Dallas

Analysis: This one’s a no-brainer for me. Dallas doesn’t often lose on Thanksgiving Day. It’s one of the chalk it up wins for the Boys year in and year out. This season, the Cowboys battle their top rival, Washington, on Turkey Day.

I’d be all over Dallas at -7 over Washington on Thanksgiving, anyhow. But after watching how Dallas’ offense calculatingly scored 24 points against the best defense in the NFL. Baltimore’s, this past Sunday, I believe that the Cowboys beat Washington by at least 2 touchdowns on Thursday.

Washington can score. Their defense isn’t close to being capable of stopping Dallas QB Dak Prescott and RB Ezekiel Elliott. The Cowboys roll to an easy win.

Pick: Dallas -7

Thanksgiving Day NFL 3-Team Parlay Parlay Pick

  • Detroit -3
  • Dallas -7
  • Pittsburgh -2.5
  • What: Pittsburgh Steelers (5-5) at Indianapolis Colts (5-5)
    When: Thursday, November 24, 2016
    Start Time: 8:30 PM ET
    Where: Indianapolis, IN
    Stadium: Lucas Oil Stadium
    Spread: Steelers -2.5
Moneyline: Pittsburgh -140 vs Indianapolis +120
    Game Total: 53.5
    Watch: NBC
    Stream: NBC Sports Live
    Listen: Pittsburgh vs Indianapolis

Analysis: I don’t want to go chalky in all 3 NFL games on Thanksgiving Day. But it’s hard not to. Even though Indianapolis did a good job keeping Tennessee to only 17 points in Week 11, the truth is that Tennessee was a 4th and 1 away from possibly going on to tie the game.

Who knew that the Colts’ D could stop DeMarco Murray from picking up a single yard? RB L’Veon Bell, QB Ben Roethlisberger, and WR Antonio Brown are going to be much harder to stop from scoring over 17 on Nov. 24.

The Colts are surging. They just run into the better team on Thursday. I like Pittsburgh to score a 6 to 10 point win on Turkey Day.

    Pick: Pittsburgh -2.5
