2015 NFL Thanksgiving Day Predictions

Updated:11/23

2015 NFL Thanksgiving is upon us. Philadelphia travels to Detroit to take on the Lions in the first game of Thanksgiving Day while Dallas hosts Carolina. And to close out the evening it will be the Bears versus the Packers. Click here for more 2015 NFL odds and predictions.

Carolina is undefeated. But, Dallas has their star QB back in the fold. Detroit is actually on a bit of a roll while Philadelphia is the team that has been reeling. Could Detroit win on Thanksgiving, a day where they don’t often add a “W”? The third game is one of the top rivalry battles in the NFL, Chicago versus Green Bay. A Thanksgiving Night game at Lambeau to round out the day is exactly what the gods of football had in mind when the NFL Network decided to broadcast the third Thanksgiving Day game.

My game predictions are after the Thanksgiving Day NFL breakdown info-graphic, so keep reading.

A Closer Look At My Early 2015 NFL Thanksgiving Day Predictions

What: Philadelphia Eagles (4-6) at Detroit Lions (3-7)
When: Thursday, November 26, 2015
Kickoff: 12:30 PM ET
Where: Detroit, MI
Stadium: Ford Field
Weather: N/A
Spread: Eagles -1
Game Total: 46
Watch: FOX
Stream: Fox Sports Go
Listen: Philadelphia vs Detroit

Analysis: Philadelphia hasn’t looked very good since a 33 to 27 win over Dallas on Nov. 8. Even in that game, the Eagles didn’t seem to have it all together.

Detroit’s defense has really turned it up in the Lions’ last couple of games. Detroit beat Green Bay 18 to 16 at Lambeau 2 games ago. It was a terrific win for the Lions who often times fold against the Packers at Lambeau. Detroit followed up the big win against Green Bay by beating Oakland 18 to 13 at home. Detroit held Raiders’ QB Derek Carr to a 13 out of 25 performance for 169 total yards. The Lions are ready to keep it going against Philly on Turkey Day.

Final Score Prediction: Detroit 20, Philadelphia 17

What: Carolina Panthers (10-0) at Dallas Cowboys (3-7)
When: Thursday, November 26, 2015
Kickoff: 4:30 PM ET
Where: Arlington, TX
Stadium: AT&T Stadium
Weather: N/A
Spread: Cowboys -1
Game Total: 46
Watch: CBS
Stream: CBS Sports
Listen: Carolina vs Dallas

Analysis: Carolina destroyed Washington at home 44 to 16 and is now an incredible 10 and 0 on the season. Things could change in a hurry for the Panthers starting this Thanksgiving, though.

Dallas got star QB Tony Romo back and look what happened? The Boys beat Miami 24 to 17. The Cowboys broke a 7 games losing streak with the win. Romo has excellent leadership skills. That’s something that isn’t often discussed in the NFL. It should be. Romo’s mere presence caused both the offense and the defense to play better.

If the Cowboys come out with the same kind of fire on Thanksgiving Day that they had this past Sunday, Carolina should stare at its first loss of the season after the final whistle. Carolina is very good, but Dallas is hard to beat on Thanksgiving as it is. This Thursday the Cowboys have their leader back and are feeling good after ending the losing streak.

Final Score Prediction: Dallas 31, Carolina 27

What: Chicago Bears (4-6) at Green Bay Packers (7-3)
When: Thursday, November 26, 2015
Kickoff: 8:30 PM ET
Where: Green Bay, WI
Stadium: Lambeau Field
Weather: 43° F | Light Rain
Spread: Packers -9
Moneyline: Chicago +340 vs Green Bay -425
Game Total: 47.5
Watch: NBC
Stream:  NBC Sports Live Extra
Listen: Chicago vs Green Bay

Analysis: Chicago travels to Lambeau in a game where Green Bay should excel. After scoring 37 points against the Rams in a surprising 37 to 13 victory, Chicago failed at home against Denver in Week 11 in a 15 to 17 loss.

The Bears get Matt Forte back for this game against Green Bay. The Packers’ defense shut down Minnesota RB Adrian Peterson to 45 yards from 13 carries. If the Pack can shut down Peterson, they should be able to shut down Forte.

Chicago almost never plays well at Lambeau. This Thanksgiving should be no exception.

Final Score Prediction: Green Bay 36, Chicago 17
