Why Bet The Tennessee Titans To Beat The Jags
Tennessee’s offense didn’t play their best game in their season opener. But it was evident QB Marcus Mariota has a full complement of weapons with the addition of WR Corey Davis via the draft this year. The trio of TE Delanie Walker, WRs Rishard Matthews and Davis were responsible for 216 receiving yards out of the 262 Mariota threw on Sunday.
"When you play against a good team like Oakland, you have to hit on all cylinders, and unfortunately we didn’t make enough plays," Mariota said.
Mariota accounted for Tennessee’s lone touchdown on a 10-yard scramble during the first quarter. From there, the Titans mustered just three field goals in the final three-quarters.
To beat the talented young Jags, the Titans will also be trying to get their ground game going to take pressure off of Mariota. Against the Raiders, starter DeMarco Murray was held to 44 yards on 12 carries and Derrick Henry gained 25 yards on six carries.
Why Bet The Jacksonville Jaguars To Beat Titans
The Jaguars defense finally lived up to its promise on paper. Jacksonville held Houston to seven points last week and sacked the Texans’ QB duo of Savage and Watson ten times.
DE Calais Campbell, who signed a four-year, $60 million deal in free agency, had four of a franchise-record 10 sacks against the Texans and was named AFC Defensive Player of the Week.
“It’s the first game of the year,” HC Doug Marrone said. “It’s a long journey. There are a lot of things we can correct. We put a lot of hard work into this plan. We put a lot of hard work into this football team. We’ll see how it goes.”
The Jaguars, by the way, usually dominate the Titans in Jacksonville. The Jars are 5-1 SU and 4-0-1 ATS in their last six meetings at home against the Titans.
If You Still Can’t Decide Who To Bet On:
- Titans are 3-1-1 ATS in their last 5 games as a road favorite of 0.5-3.0.
- Jaguars are 4-0 ATS in their last 4 vs. AFC.
- Jaguars are 4-0 ATS in their last 4 games overall.
Titans vs. Jaguars Week 2 Betting Analysis:
I am a believer in the 2017 Jacksonville Jaguars. The Jags brain-trust has been slowly building up a championship calibre defense via free agency and the draft. Is this the year of the Jaguars? I don’t know, but they will beat the Titans.
