NFL Week 6 Upset PicksJosh Bailey
Finding upset picks in the NFL is a daunting task, but I believe I have found three gems for Week 6. Happy hunting!
NFL Week 6 Upset Picks
My upset picks in Week 6 NFL betting action start early this week. How will San Diego fair against Denver on Thursday? Can Cleveland finally put it all together versus a hot Tennessee team on Sunday? What will happen when Atlanta battles Seattle in one of the most interesting games in Week 6?
Denver at San Diego
When: Thursday, Oct. 13 at 8:30 pm ET
Where: Qualcomm Stadium, San Diego, CA
Odds: San Diego +2.5
Analysis: Denver lost its first game of the season in Week 5. Starting Paxton Lynch had something to do with it. The rookie QB was 23 out of 35 for 223 yards. He threw a pick and a TD. That’s not bad for a rookie. But, Atlanta’s defense allows 290 passing yards and 28 points per game. On Thursday, Lynch faces a much better passing defense on the road than the one that he faced at home in Week 5.
San Diego’s offense isn’t too shabby either. Denver gave up 122 rushing yards and 250 passing yards to the Falcons in Week 5. San Diego averages 373.2 total yards, 282 of those yards come via the pass. The Chargers will have a shot to win this game straight up.
NFL Week 6 Upset Pick: San Diego +2.5
Cleveland at Tennessee
When: Sunday, Oct. 16 at 1:00 pm ET
Where: Nissan Stadium, Nashville, TN
Odds: Cleveland +6
Analysis: Tennessee looked fantastic when hanging 30 onto Miami in a huge 30 to 17 win in Week 5. The Titans’ offense was unreal. It rushed for 235 yards. Marcus Mariota threw 3 TD passes.
Who knows who will play QB for Cleveland on Sunday? It’s a legitimate question after Cody Kessler went down with an injury. My guess is that it’s going to be former Ohio State QB Terrelle Pryor. Pryor has NFL QB experience. He’s been Cleveland’s best offensive player as a wide receiver this season.
Now, Pryor is going to have to step it up under center. Will that be enough for the Browns to keep this one close? Since I think that the betting line rises tremendously from Cleveland +6 to Cleveland possibly +9 or +10, I think that taking a shot on Pryor at QB is worth it.
NFL Week 6 Upset Pick: Cleveland +6
Atlanta at Seattle
When: Sunday, Oct. 16 at 4:25 pm ET
Where: Citi Field, Seattle, WA
Odds: Atlanta +6
Analysis: There’s absolutely no reason why Seattle should be 6-point favorites over Atlanta on Sunday, Oct. 16. Seattle’s defense hasn’t exactly been as stellar as so many believe it to be.
The Falcons looked great when torching Denver’s defense for 122 rushing yards and 250 passing yards in their Week 5 win over the Broncos. I don’t think Seattle’s defense is better than Denver’s.
QB Matt Ryan is my MVP so far this season. He’s been unbelievable. Seattle’s offense should be ready to go mano y mano against Atlanta’s. Still, my gut tells me to go moneyline on the Falcons. But my head tells me to take the points.
That’s what I’ll do.
