The Vikings are 3-0 in the preseason, including their HOF game win over the Steelers. Meanwhile, Dallas is 0-2 this offseason. Preseason Week 3 is the dress rehearsal for the regular season. Who else is hoping we get a chance to see Adrian Peterson in the Vikings backfield?
A Closer Look At The Minnesota Vikings at Dallas Cowboys Preseason Week 3 Odds, Betting Prediction & How To Watch
Cowboys head-honcho Jerry Jones has wanted to see Adrian Peterson in Dallas for a long time. Even courting him during his suspension last season. Jones will get a good look at him up close and personal this week, but not in a Cowboys uni. It is unclear if he will be dressing for the Vikings either.
Jones didn’t sign last year’s leading rusher DeMarco Murray during the offseason either. Murray bolted for the Eagles. Now the backfield will be manned by the oft injured and under performing Darren McFadden and Joseph Randle.
Last season, the Dallas Cowboys averaged 236.5 yards in passing and 147.1 yards in rushing. Defensively, the Dallas Cowboys yielded 251.9 yards in passing and 103.1 yards in rushing per game.
|2014 Offensive Leaders||2014 Defensive Leaders|
|QB Tony Romo (3705 yds, 34 TDs, 9 INTs)||S Barry Church (97 tackles)|
|RB DeMarco Murray (1845 yds, 13 TDs)||LB Bruce Carter (5 INTs)|
|WR Dez Bryant (1320 yds, 16 TDs)||DE Jeremy Mincey (6.0 sacks)|
Zimmer is expected to have QB Teddy Bridgewater for the whole of the first half. Bridgewater, who has been developing at an impressive rate, completed 10 of 14 passes for 89 yards, and 1 TD in the 20-12 against the Oakland Raiders last week. Zimmer praised his quarterback chemistry with WR Mike Wallace during practices, and we might get to see some of it against Dallas.
"I like the kid an awful lot," Zimmer was quoted by KSTP.com . "I was told he was a hard worker, he is. Obviously, I knew how fast he was from playing against him. Maybe his leadership a little bit. I didn’t know much about that, but he’s not afraid to say things to other players to get them practicing or doing the things that should be done the right way. I didn’t know he stays out extra and catches a lot of balls on the Jugs machine and things like that, but for the most part, pretty much as I expected."
Last season, the Minnesota Vikings averaged 202.8 yards in passing and 112.8 yards in rushing. Defensively, the Minnesota Vikings yielded 223.2 yards in passing and 121.4 yards in rushing.
|2014 Offensive Leaders||2014 Defensive Leaders|
|QB Teddy Bridgewater (2919 yds, 14 TDs, 12 INTs)||S Robert Blanton (106 tackles)|
|RB Matt Asiata (570 yds, 9 TDs)||S Harrison Smith (5 INTs)|
|WR Greg Jennings (742 yds, 6 TDs)||DE Everson Griffen (12.0 sacks)|
