If You Are Betting On The Washington Redskins Spread At +5.5
The Washington Redskins are a surprising 2-3 straight up and 3-2 against the spread so far this season. Their offense averages 19.4 points (25th), 238.6 passing yards (18th), and 121.8 rushing yards (12th) per game. Last week they lost 25-19 to the Atlanta Falcons in overtime.
On the season, QB Kirk Cousins has thrown for 1224 yards, 5 TDs and 6 INTs. Cousins hasn’t been intercepted in Washington’s victories, but has thrown all six in the three losses, also completing 64.3 percent of his passes compared to 74.0 in the wins.
Cousins’ is hoping to get DeSean Jackson back this week, but it might be a longshot. Jackson hasn’t played since straining his left hamstring on his first target early in the team’s Week 1 loss to Miami. Last season he was leading the league with 20.9 receiving yards per catch. In his stead, TE Jordan Reed (24 rec, 278 yards, 1 TD) has been the team’s most reliable receiver along with Pierre Garcon (27 rec, 267 yards, 2 TDs).

The Washington run game has turned into a RBBC with Alfred Morris (74 att, 276 yards, 0 TDs) and rookie Matt Jones (54 att, 220 yards, 3 TDs) sharing carries. Jones is getting the call at the goal-line, but has a fumbling issue.
Washington’s defense allows 20.8 points (12th), 216.0 passing yards (8th), and 97.6 rushing yards (12th) per game. Keenan Robinson leads the Redskins with 31 tackles, Chris Baker has 3.5 sacks and Kyshoen Jarrett has two pass deflections.
If You Are Betting On The NY Jets Spread At -5.5
The New York Jets are 3-1 straight up and against the spread. They are averaging 23.8 points (12th), 229.0 passing yards (24th) and 127.5 rushing yards (7th) per game. They are coming off a bye week and a win in London to the Dolphins two weeks ago.
QB Ryan Fitzpatrick has thrown for 924 yards, 7 TDs & 6 INTs so far this season. After just a handful of games with accomplished wide-receivers Brandon Marshall (30 rec, 400 yards, 3 TDs) and Eric Decker (14 yards, 180 yards, 3 TDs), his chemistry with his pass-catchers is evident. So is his veteran presence in the huddle.
Marshall is the Jets’ first player with 100-plus receiving yards in three straight games since Al Toon in 1988. He has averaged 102.3 yards in three career meetings with the Redskins.
RB Chris Ivory (63 att, 314 yards, 3 TDs) is tied for the league lead in rushing yards per game at 104.7 and is averaging 5.0 yards per carry.
New York’s defense gives up 13.8 points (1st), 186.0 passing yards (2nd) and 94.8 rushing yards (8th) per game. David Harris leads the Jets with 27 tackles, Muhammad Wilkerson has 3.5 sacks and Darrelle Revis has two interceptions. The stout run defense also gets Pro Bowl defensive end Sheldon Richardson back from suspension.
