Most football fans won’t rush to their television sets in an effort to see the Minnesota Vikings (5-10-1 SU,9-7 ATS) and St. Louis Rams (7-9 SU,7-9 ATS) battle in their Week 1 NFL matchup, but this ‘under the radar’ contest is offering a bunch of value nevertheless.
The two NFC playoff hopefuls will square off at Edward Jones Dome on Sunday at 1:00 PM ET .

My NFL Week 1 Expert Pick – Minnesota Vikings at St. Louis Rams
St. Louis went 1-33 SU and 2-2 ATS in the preseason but lost starting quarterback Sam Bradford for the season due to another torn ACL. Now the team will be forced to turn to veteran backup Shaun Hill or newly aquired Case Keenum and things aren’t looking very promising for the Rams right now.
Keenum, who was waived by the Houston Texans after they traded for the New England Patriots’ Ryan Mallett, was claimed by the Rams. He started half the season for the Texans in 2013, and though the team lost all eight contests (seven of them by a one-score margin), he played fairly well and could leapfrog Hill for the starting job.

Minnesota on the other hand, went a perfect 4-0 SU and 3-1 ATS during the preseason not matter if Matt Cassel or rookie, Teddy Bridgewater was leading them.
The Rams may be playing at home – and they’ve got one of the best defensive lines in the game today. However, it is Minnesota that has the better quarterback in this matchup, which is why they’re my pick to win and cover the spread in this one.
The Vikings also have a brand new mentality under first-year head coach Mike Zimmer and I expect them to show their newfound confidence in this Week 1 opener.
The Rams have gotten off to traditionally slow starts, going 1-6 ATS in their last seven Week 1 games while Minnesota has compiled a stellar 4-0 ATS mark in their L/4 games against their NFC counterparts while also going 5-1 ATS in their last half-dozen games overall.
