NFL Week 12 Upset Picks – Bet The Saints, Redskins & Steelers

Its Thanksgiving Week in the NFL and I am thankful for my NFL week 12 upset picks. There are good reasons for each one of this week’s upset picks in the NFL. New Orleans travels to Houston after their bye. Washington hosts NFC East rival New York with a chance (still!) at the division title. In the third upset game, tough Pittsburgh heads northwest to take on Seattle. Keep reading for more information on NFL Week 12’s best upset picks!

A Closer Look At My NFL Week 12 Upset Picks

What: New Orleans Saints (4-6) at Houston Texans (5-5)
When: Sunday, November 29, 2015
Kickoff: 1:00 PM ET
Where: Houston, TX
Stadium: NRG Stadium
Spread: Texans -3
Moneyline: New Orleans Saints +130 vs Houston -130
Game Total: 47.5
Watch: FOX
Stream: Fox Sports Go
Listen: New Orleans vs Houston

Analysis: Houston’s defense has really turned into something. The Texans have allowed no more than 17 points in 3 straight games. Houston held Cincinnati to only 6 points in a 10 to 6 upset win 2 games ago. In the game before the Cincinnati win, Houston kept Tennessee to 6 points in a 20 to 6 win.

But, New Orleans tackles Houston after their bye week. Sean Payton fired defensive coordinator Rob Ryan and replaced him with Dennis Allen. Allen will blitz Houston QB T.J. Yates. That should force Yates into a couple of bad throws. Payton’s offense should be much better after the bye week as well. Geaux Saints.

Pick: New Orleans

What: NY Giants (5-5) at Washington (4-6)
When: Sunday, November 29, 2015
Kickoff: 1:00 PM ET
Where: FedEx Field
Stadium: Landover, MD
Weather: 47° F | Passing Clouds
Spread: NY Giants -1.5
Game Total: 46.5
Watch: FOX
Stream: Fox Sports Go
Listen: NY Giants vs Washington

Analysis: The Giants are road favorites for a reason. Overall, they’ve looked much better than Washington has looked this season. NYG also takes on the DC’ers after their bye. New York should be ready.

But, and this is crazy, Washington QB Kirk Cousins is one of the top quarterbacks in home games this season. The last time Cousins played at home he recorded a 153.3 rating against New Orleans. In the game at home before the Saints, Cousins recorded a 124.7 rating against Tampa Bay.

The Giants’ defense allows 309.9 passing yards per game. That ranks the G-Men 32nd in the NFL in passing yards allowed per game. Expect Washington to hold serve at home.

Pick: Washington

What: Pittsburgh Steelers (6-4) at Seattle Seahawks (5-5)
When: Sunday, November 29, 2015
Kickoff: 4:25 PM ET
Where: Seattle, WA
Stadium: CenturyLink Field
Weather: 43° F | Sprinkles
Spread: Seahawks -5.5
Moneyline: Pittsburgh +205 vs Seattle -245
Game Total: 44.5
Watch: CBS
Stream: CBS Sports
Listen: Pittsburgh vs Seattle

Analysis: Seattle’s defense isn’t the issue. The Seahawks are ranked second in the NFL in yards allowed per game at 303.6. Seattle’s offense is the problem. The Seahawks can’t keep the rush from getting to QB Russell Wilson.

Without a decent offensive line, Wilson hasn’t been able to find tight-end Jimmy Graham down the field. The Seahawks parted with their starting center for a guy that has caught 44 passes for 530 yards and only 2 touchdowns. Much more was expected from the Wilson to Graham combo.
Pitt QB Ben Roethlisberger should play this Sunday. Pitt’s defense is allowing less than 100 yards rushing per game. All of it adds up to a Pittsburgh win on the moneyline.

Pick: Pittsburgh
