NFL Week 12 ATS Picks

What: St. Louis Rams (4-6) at Cincinnati Bengals (8-2)
When: Sunday, November 29, 2015
Kickoff: 1:00 PM ET
Where: Cincinnati, OH
Stadium: Paul Brown Stadium
Weather: 43° F | Sprinkles Late
Spread: Bengals -7
Watch: FOX
Stream: Fox Sports Go
Listen: St. Louis vs Cincinnati

Analysis: St. Louis’s offense is atrocious. The Rams have lost 3 games in a row, including dropping games to the Chicago Bears and Baltimore Ravens, after winning 3 out of their previous 4. As good as RB Todd Gurley is, this is the NFL. It’s tough for a single player to win for a team nowadays.

Cincinnati was oh so close to beating Arizona on the road this past Sunday night. Cincinnati will be ready to end their 2 game losing streak in a big way.

Pick: Cincinnati

What: Minnesota Vikings (7-3) at Atlanta Falcons (6-4)
When: Sunday, November 29, 2015
Kickoff: 1:00 PM ET
Where: Atlanta, GA
Stadium: Georgia Dome
Spread: Falcons -2.5
Moneyline: Minnesota +115 vs Atlanta -135
Game Total: 46
Watch: FOX
Stream: Fox Sports Go
Listen: Minnesota vs Atlanta

Analysis: Minnesota had Green Bay right where they wanted them. Most football handicappers actually thought that the Vikings might win by more than the spread. But, it didn’t happen.

Green Bay got out of their doldrums with a 30 to 13 win. Will Atlanta add to Minnesota’s misery?  Not likely. The Falcons have lost 4 out of their last 5. Atlanta is having trouble moving the football. Plus, RB Devonta Freeman may not play.

Pick: Minnesota

What: Baltimore Ravens (3-7) at Cleveland Browns (2-8)
When: Monday, November 30, 2015
Kickoff: 8:30 PM ET
Where: Cleveland, OH
Stadium: FirstEnergy Stadium
Weather: 39° F | Cloudy
Spread: Browns -2.5
Moneyline:
Game Total: 41

Listen: Baltimore vs Cleveland

Analysis: The Ravens have already lost Steve Smith and Terrell Suggs to season ending injuries. In Steve Smith’s case it might be a career ender. This week they lost Justin Forsett and Super Bowl MVP Joe Flacco. Matt Schaub isn’t a bad QB. He’s had a few good years in this league.

The real difference in this game should be Cleveland quarterback Johnny Manziel. Because he’s Johnny Football, everybody expects him to look like Drew Brees right away. That doesn’t happen in the NFL. Manziel was brilliant in his last game, a 9 to 30 loss to Pittsburgh.  He completed an amazing 73.3% of his passes for 372 yards and an 8.3 per pass average. He’ll torch Baltimore on Sunday.

Pick: Cleveland

NFL Week 12 Game Total Over/Under Picks

What: NY Giants (5-5) at Washington (4-6)
When: Sunday, November 29, 2015
Kickoff: 1:00 PM ET
Where: FedEx Field
Stadium: Landover, MD
Weather: 47° F | Passing Clouds
Spread: NY Giants -1.5
Moneyline:
Game Total: 46.5
Watch: FOX
Stream: Fox Sports Go
Listen: NY Giants vs Washington

Analysis: Neither one of these teams has the defense to stop the other teams’ offense. The Giants have the most effective QB to WR hook-up in the NFL with Eli Manning and Odell Beckham.
Washington has a very capable QB Kirk Cousins…at least when he plays at home. Cousins has recorded 3 100+ QB ratings in the 5 home games in which he’s played this season. He recorded a 91 in one of the other home games. His worst QB rating in a home game was in Week 1 against Miami. Points galore in this NFC East battle.

Pick: Over

What: Tampa Bay Buccaneers (5-5) at Indianapolis Colts (5-5)
When: Sunday, November 29, 2015
Kickoff: 1:00 PM ET
Where: Indianapolis, IN
Stadium: Lucas Oil Stadium
Spread: Colts -3
Moneyline: Tampa Bay +155 vs Indianapolis -175
Game Total: 46.5
Watch: FOX
Stream: Fox Sports Go
Listen: Tampa Bay vs Indianapolis

Analysis: Wow. QB Matt Hasselbeck brought Indianapolis back in Atlanta for a 24 to 21 win. That was impressive. The old-timer is 3-0 this season.

Now, Hasselbeck gets to throw the football against a Tampa defense that can show up at times, but shouldn’t because this game is on the road. The Bucs just beat Philadelphia on the road 45 to 17. So, even if Tampa’s defense shuts down Indianapolis, the over still looks good. QB Jameis Winston should have another big day.

Pick: Over 46.5

What: San Diego Chargers (2-8) at Jacksonville Jaguars (4-6)
When: Sunday, November 29, 2015
Kickoff: 1:00 PM ET
Where: Jacksonville, FL
Stadium: EverBank Field
Weather: 70° F | Increasing Cloudiness
Spread: Jaguars -4
Moneyline: Team A vs Team B
Game Total: 46.5
Watch: CBS
Stream: CBS Sports
Listen: San Diego vs Jacksonville

Analysis: Jacksonville has a chance to put points up against San Diego. There’s no doubt about that. The Chargers’ defense has given up 37, 29, 22 and 33 points in their last 4 games.

Jacksonville QB Blake Bortles is turning into a decent QB. He’ll throw the ball to WR Allen Robinson all day in this. But, San Diego’s offense is horrid now that WR Keenan Allen is out for the season. Expect this to go under.

Pick: Under 46.5

NFL Week 12 Straight Up Moneyline Picks

What: Miami Dolphins (4-6) at NY Jets (5-5)
When: Sunday, November 29, 2015
Kickoff: 1:00 PM ET
Where: East Rutherford, NJ
Stadium: MetLife Stadium
Weather: 46° F | More Sun Than Clouds
Spread: NY Jets -110
Moneyline: Miami +160 vs NY Jets -185
Game Total: 42.5
Watch: CBS
Stream: CBS Sports
Listen: Miami vs New York

Analysis: It’s tough to back any one of these teams at first glance. The Jets’ defense isn’t shutting teams down any more. It wouldn’t be so bad if the Jets’ offense was as effective as it was earlier in the season.

NYJ has scored more than 20 points only once in its last 4 games. That was against Jacksonville. The Dolphins played well on the road against QB Tony Romo and Dallas. They lost 24 to 17, but the D has been playing much better than it was playing. Go with Miami.

Pick: Miami

What: New England Patriots at Denver Broncos (8-2)
When: Sunday, November 29, 2015
Kickoff: 8:30 PM ET
Where: Denver, CO
Stadium: Sports Authority Field at Mile High
Weather: 43° F | Decreasing Cloudiness
Watch: NBC
Stream:  NBC Sports Live Extra
Listen: New England vs Denver

Analysis: The odds won’t be available until week 11’s MNF game in which the Pats host the Bills and the Broncos name a starter. Will it be Peyton Manning or the more effective Brock Osweiler?

If Peyton doesn’t play, and the guess here is that he won’t, Denver is the pick. Osweiler looked awesome against Chicago’s fourth ranked pass defense this past Sunday. He threw for 250 yards and 2 touchdowns while completing 74% of his passes. My guess is that Peyton rides the pine. Going with Denver in this matchup.

Pick: Denver

What: New Orleans Saints (4-6) at Houston Texans (5-5)
When: Sunday, November 29, 2015
Kickoff: 1:00 PM ET
Where: Houston, TX
Stadium: NRG Stadium
Spread: Texans -3
Moneyline: New Orleans Saints +130 vs Houston -130
Game Total: 47.5
Watch: FOX
Stream: Fox Sports Go
Listen: New Orleans vs Houston

Analysis: Houston has come to life in a big way. They’ve covered the spread in 4 out of their last 5 games. They’ve won 2 straight, including beating Cincinnati 10 to 9 on the road. The defense has turned into the shutdown unit that everyone imagined it to be to start the season.

But, the Saints are desperate. New Orleans is still in the running for a spot in the NFC Playoffs. New defensive coordinator Dennis Allen should blitz the Saints’ linebackers with regularity in this game. Houston QB T.J. Yates might have a tough time containing that blitz. There are worse +3 point underdogs to hang a moneyline wager on.

Pick: New Orleans
