NFL Week 13 Five ? Lock Picks

Three of the hottest teams in the NFL take on three teams going the other way in my Week 13’s five ? lock picks.

My first NFL week 13 five ? lock pick pits San Francisco against Chicago.Next, Denver travels to SoCal to take on San Diego. Finally, Kansas City takes on the Raiders in Oakland. KC versus Oakland is actually one of the top rivalries in all of football. The rivalry started way back when Hank Stram coached Kansas City and John Madden coached Oakland. Who wins this Sunday?

A Closer Look At My NFL Week 13 Five ? Lock Picks

What: San Francisco 49ers (3-8) at Chicago Bears (5-6)
When: Sunday, December 6, 2015
Kickoff: 1:00 PM ET
Where: Chicago, IL
Stadium: Soldier Field
Weather: 46° F | Scattered Clouds
Spread: Bears -7
Moneyline: San Francisco +225 vs Chicago -300
Game Total: 43
Watch: FOX
Stream: Fox Sports Go
Listen: San Francisco vs Chicago

Analysis: San Francisco is just a bad team. The main problem is the absolutely horrendous offense. The 49’ers averages 295.5 yards per game. That ranks 32nd in the NFL. They average 198.4 passing yards per game. That ranks 30th in the NFL. They average 13.8 points per game. That ranks 32nd in the NFL.

Chicago’s offense isn’t great. It averages only 21 points per game. But, that’s still enough to cover the spread in this against a San Francisco team with a terrible offense. Also, Chicago has one of the top defenses in the NFL against the pass. QB Jay Cutler might get WR Alshon Jeffery back. There is a lot to like about the Bears in this matchup with the 49’ers.

Pick: Chicago

What: Denver Broncos (9-2) at San Diego Chargers (3-8)
When: Sunday, December 6, 2015
Kickoff: 4:05 PM ET
Where: San Diego, CA
Stadium: Qualcomm Stadium
Weather: 74° F | More Sun Than Clouds
Spread: Broncos -4
Moneyline: Broncos -225 vs Chargers +185
Game Total: 43.5
Watch: CBS
Stream: CBS Sports
Listen: Denver vs San Diego

Analysis: San Diego beat Jacksonville 31 to 25 in Week 12. The Chargers’ offense got out of the doldrums, but the Chargers’ defense still gave up a ton of yards and points. On average, San Diego gives up 27.9 points per game.

Now, San Diego faces an offense that rushed for 179 yards against the Patriots’ very good defense. Denver’s C.J. Anderson and Rodney Hillman rushed for over 4 yards per carry. The Broncos’ rushing attack may have finally come around. It will be difficult to stop the Broncos’ offense now because QB Brock Osweiler is playing much better than Peyton Manning was playing. Denver should easily cover the spread in this game.

Pick: Denver

What: Kansas City Chiefs (6-5) at Oakland Raiders (5-6)
When: Sunday, December 6, 2015
Kickoff: 4:05 PM ET
Where: Oakland, CA
Stadium: O.co Coliseum
Weather: 58° F | Cloudy
Spread: Raiders -3
Moneyline: Kansas City -159 vs Oakland +125
Game Total: 44
Watch: CBS
Stream: CBS Sports
Listen: Kansas City vs Oakland

Analysis: Save for the undefeated Carolina Panthers, the hottest team in the NFL since October 25 has been the Kansas City Chiefs. The Chiefs have won 5 games in a row. They have allowed only 1 opponent in their past 7 games to score 20 points or more.

The Chiefs offense is on fire. KC averages 26.1 points per game. Even though Oakland has a decent offense, it’s just going to be too tough to keep up with Kansas City’s. Plus, the Chiefs’ defense should get to Raiders’ QB Derek Carr. The Chiefs are at 6 and 5. Andy Reid has them rolling. Expect KC to cover the spread in this matchup.

Pick: Kansas City
