NFL Week 13 Upset Picks

There are some great moneyline upset pick possibilities in Week 13 of NFL betting action. All of my picks are straight-up money line picks.

Green Bay travels to Detroit to battle the Lions. The Jets and Giants square off in the yearly Meadowlands Rumble. Houston travels to Buffalo to take on the Bills. All 3 games have playoff implications. Week 13 should be a lot of fun!

Analysis: Green Bay is in dire straits after losing 13 to 17 to Chicago on Thanksgiving Day. The Packers have lost 4 out of their last 5 games since the bye week. This includes losing 16 to 18 to Detroit at Lambeau in their first game after their bye week. What, exactly, did the Packers do during their bye week? Because whatever it was, it wasn’t trying to improve on the football field.

Green Bay’s offense is a mess. Wouldn’t you know it? The Packers offense, which can’t get into the end zone even though it continues to move the ball well, faces a very good Lions’ defense. The Lions gave up 13 points to Oakland’s high-powered offense 2 games ago. It gave up 14 points to Philadelphia’s very good offense on Thanksgiving. Lions upset the Pack again.

Pick: Detroit

What: NY Jets (6-5) at NY Giants (5-6)
When: Sunday, December 6, 2015
Kickoff: 1:00 PM ET
Where: East Rutherford, NJ
Stadium: MetLife Stadium
Weather: 53° F | Scattered Clouds
Spread: Jets -1
Moneyline: NY Jets -120 vs NY Giants +100
Game Total: 45
Watch: CBS
Stream: CBS Sports
Listen: NY Jets vs NY Giants

Analysis: The New York Giants’ defense ran into the buzz saw that is Kirk Cousins when the often downtrodden Washington QB plays at home. Cousins is awesome at home. Jets’ QB Ryan Fitzpatrick? Eh, he can be up or down at home or on the road.

Technically, Fitz and the Jets are on the road this Sunday, but they play the Giants at the Meadowlands. The 2 teams share the stadium. The Jets opened up as a 1 point favorite. They are now a 1.5 point favorite. Hopefully, they’ll get to -2 over the Giants so that we can play the moneyline in this game.

The Jets’ D hasn’t been that great lately. Buffalo rushed for 148 yards against the Jets. Houston QB T.J. Yates threw for 229 yards and 2 touchdowns against the Jets. Miami’s Ryan Tannehill passed for 351 yards and 3 TDs against the Jets. Now, the Jets’ D faces Eli Manning and Odell Beckham Jr. The G-Men take it.

Pick: Giants

What: Houston Texans (6-5) at Buffalo Bills (5-6)

Kickoff: 1:00 PM ET
Where: Buffalo, NY
Stadium: Ralph Wilson Stadium
Weather: 47° F | Scattered Clouds
Spread: Bills -3
Moneyline: Houston +125 vs Buffalo -162
Game Total: 41.5
Watch: CBS
Stream: CBS Sports
Listen: Houston vs Buffalo

Analysis: Buffalo has lost 2 in a row. It’s surprising that anybody would really believe that Buffalo should be favored in this game facing a Houston team that has been brilliant for the past 6 weeks. The Texans have gone 5 and 1 straight up and ATS in their last 6 games.

Since their bye week, no team has scored more than 17 points against Houston’s defense. Cincinnati was held to 6 points in a 10 to 6 Houston win while the Saints were also held to 6 points in a 24 to 6 Houston win in Week 12. The Texans win it.

Pick: Houston
