NFL Week 15 Upset Picks

6 Reasons To Bet On The Carolina Panthers To Win Super Bowl 50

NFL Week 15 Upset Picks

Carolina is still undefeated. Once again, I’m going after the Panthers. This time, I’m going after them with the New York Giants. Green Bay takes on Oakland in another upset pick of the week. Why anybody believes that Green Bay should be favored over Oakland is a mystery to me. My final upset pick is Philadelphia over Arizona. Keep reading to get the inside scoop on why I chose these games!

A Closer Look At My NFL Week 15 Upset Picks

What: Carolina Panthers (13-0) at NY Giants (6-7)
When: Sunday, December 20, 2015
Kickoff: 1:00 PM ET
Where: East Rutherford, NJ
Stadium: MetLife Stadium
Spread: Panthers -5.5
Moneyline: Team A vs Team B
Game Total: 48
Watch: FOX
Stream: Fox Sports Go
Listen: Carolina vs NY Giants

Analysis: Carolina is on a different planet right now. But, they figure to stub their toe sometime in the next 3 weeks. It’s tough to go undefeated during the regular season. This week is probably the best time to go against the Panthers.

Carolina faces the Giants on the road. The G-Men have to win this game in order to keep pace in the horrible NFC East. New York could have the Carolina Defense Killer in QB Eli Manning and wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. Manning has thrown for 3655 yards while Beckham Jr. has racked up 1325 receiving yards and 12 touchdowns from 85 catches. The reason you have to like that matchup is because Carolina corner Bene Benwikere is out for the season. Josh Norman is great, but he can’t even guard Beckham Jr. one on one.

Pick: New York Giants

What: Green Bay Packers (9-4) at Oakland Raiders (6-7)
When: Sunday, December 20, 2015
Kickoff: 4:05 PM ET
Where: Oakland, CA
Stadium: O.co Coliseum
Spread: Packers -3
Moneyline: Green Bay -169 vs Oakland +140
Game Total: 47
Watch: FOX
Stream: Fox Sports Go
Listen: Green Bay vs Oakland

Analysis: Green Bay beats Dallas 28 to 7 at home in Week 14 and they become a 3 point road favorite over Oakland who beat Denver 15 to 12 on the road in Week 14? Something is wrong with the spread in this game.

Oakland’s Khalil Mack was phenomenal versus Denver. He had 5 sacks. That’s a lot of sacks against what’s usually a decent pass protecting offensive line. Green Bay’s offensive line is banged up. The Packers have had to start back-ups in the last 2 games. If Green Bay decides to double-team Mack, that’s going to leave open linebackers Curtis Lofton and Malcolm Smith. Aaron Rodgers is going to have a long day in Oakland on Dec. 20.

Pick: Oakland

What: Arizona Cardinals (11-2) at Philadelphia Eagles (6-7)
When: Sunday, December 20, 2015
Kickoff: 8:30 PM ET
Where: Philadelphia, PA
Stadium: Lincoln Financial Field
Spread: Cardinals -3.5
Moneyline: Arizona -180 vs Philadelphia +160
Game Total: 50.5
Watch: NBC
Stream:  NBC Sports Live Extra
Listen: Arizona vs Philadelphia

Analysis: I’m as surprised as any that Philadelphia has won 2 games in a row, one of the wins was against New England, and is tied for the lead in the NFC East with Washington and the New York Giants.

Arizona might be the most complete football team in the NFL. But like Carolina, Arizona has been playing at such a high-level that they’re due for a letdown. I could be wrong. Arizona’s number one ranked offense could take apart an Eagles defense ranked 27th in the NFL. Also, Philadelphia’s offense might have some trouble against the fifth ranked defense in the NFL.

Then again, Philadelphia has beaten 2 very good AFC teams in a row. They’ve done it by playing smart football and not making killer mistakes. I’m willing to take a shot on the Eagles on the moneyline against the Cardinals.

Pick: Philadelphia
