NFL Week 15 Betting Cheat Sheet

Week 14 saw some serious separation. But, Week 14 also threw some things out of whack. Will Week 15 shed more light on the playoff races?

The Jets take on Dallas. Atlanta tries once again to stem the bleeding. This time the Falcons battle Jacksonville. Green Bay battles Oakland in a tough matchup for the NFC North leading Packers. Check out my top ATS, Over/Under and Moneyline bets for Week 15.

NFL Week 15 ATS Betting Picks

NY Jets at Dallas
When: Saturday, Dec. 19 at 8:25 pm ET
Odds: NY Jets -3

Analysis: The Cowboys suffered a bad 28 to 7 loss to Green Bay at Lambeau in Week 14. Dallas has now lost 6 out of their last 8 games. The Cowboys have only beaten Washington and Miami in their last 8. In that span, the Boys are 3 and 5 against the spread. In Week 14, the Jets beat Tennessee 30 to 8 as a -8 point home favorite. New York is once again in the hunt for a playoff spot. They should easily handle Dallas by more than 3 on Sunday.

Pick: NY Jets

Atlanta at Jacksonville
When: Sunday, Dec. 20 at 1:00 pm ET
Odds: Jacksonville -3

Analysis: How bad have things been for Atlanta? The Falcons suffered their sixth straight loss in Week 14 zero to 38 to Carolina. Atlanta started out the season going 5 and 0. They’ve lost 7 out of their last 8 games straight up. The Falcons have gone 0 and 9 against the spread in their last 9 games. That’s ridiculous. Jacksonville is 5 and 8 straight up. The Jaguars are 7-5-1 against the spread. In home games, the Jags are 4 and 3 ATS. Since Jacksonville plays arguably the worst team in the NFL this season on Sunday, they should cover ATS.

Pick: Jacksonville

Kansas City at Baltimore
When: Sunday, Dec. 20 at 1:00 pm ET
Odds: Kansas City -7

Analysis: Kansas City didn’t cover the -11.5 point spread against San Diego in Week 14. But, the Chiefs did win 10 to 3. It was Kansas City’s seventh win in a row. In those 7 games, KC has gone 6 and 1 against the spread. The offense should have no trouble scoring against a Baltimore defense that has been playing better lately but will have trouble covering TE Travis Kelce and WR Jeremy Maclin. Baltimore’s offense is a mess. It’s so bad in Baltimore that Coach John Harbaugh had to start Jimmy Clausen, the former Bears’ back-up in a 6 to 35 Week 14 loss to Seattle.

Pick: Kansas City

NFL Week 15 Over/Under Game Total Betting Picks

Tampa Bay at St. Louis
When: Thursday, Dec. 17 at 8:25 pm ET
Total: 41

Analysis: Tampa Bay travels to St. Louis looking to score more than the 17 points that they put up against the Saints in a 17 to 24 loss in Week 14. But, 17 points might cut it for the win. Both of these teams rely on their running games. St. Louis averages 124.8 rushing yards per game, ranked 6th in the league. Tampa Bay averages 140.9 yards per game on the ground, ranked 4th in the NFL. Because both teams will rush the football in this game, expect it to go under the total.

Pick: Under

Denver at Pittsburgh
When: Sunday, Dec. 20 at 4:25 pm ET
Total: 45

Analysis: Denver has one of the best defenses in the NFL. It has little chance of stopping Pittsburgh’s offense, though. The Steelers have scored 30 points or more in 5 straight games. Pittsburgh beat Cincinnati 33 to 20 on the road in Week 14. It put the Steelers only 2 games behind the Bengals with 3 games to go. Pittsburgh has a good chance at putting up at least 30 against Denver. But, will the Broncos do their part? That’s not likely. Denver’s offense has scored 17 and 12 points against San Diego and Oakland. Pittsburgh’s defense is better than both of those teams’ defenses.

Pick: Under

Detroit at New Orleans
When: Monday, Dec. 21 at 8:30 pm ET
Total: 50

Analysis: Wow. New Orleans scores 24 points against Tampa Bay and the total is set at 50 versus Detroit? What the heck are odds makers thinking? What they’re thinking is that Detroit QB Matthew Stafford and WR Calvin Johnson could pummel a Saints’ D that’s allowing 278.8 passing yards per game and 30.5 points per game. The Detroit defense has the ability to shut down the Saints’ offense, but QB Drew Brees is better in the Dome than he is on the road. Go over.

Pick: Over

NFL Week 15 Straight Up Moneyline Picks

Buffalo at Washington
When: Sunday, Dec. 20 at 1:00 pm ET
Odds: Buffalo -1

Analysis: It’s crazy but Washington is in first place in the NFC East Division at 6 and 7. Washington has a good shot at beating Buffalo at home in Week 15. The Bills have won only 1 out of their last 4 games. That win was against Houston where Buffalo’s defense allowed the Texans to pass for 275 yards. Washington QB Kirk Cousins passed for 300 yards and completed 77% of his passes versus Chicago in a 24 to 21 Washington win in Week 14. Cousins has recorded 3 straight QB ratings of 101.4 or higher. He can beat Buffalo’s defense on Sunday.

Pick: Washington

Green Bay at Oakland
When: Sunday, Dec. 20 at 4:05 pm ET
Odds: Green Bay -3

Analysis: Green Bay has won 2 games in a row since losing 3 in a row. The Packers are now back in the driver’s seat in the AFC North. But, Green Bay faces a tough team this Sunday in the Oakland Raiders. Oakland spotted Denver 12 points in Week 14 before beating the Broncos 15 to 12. Sure, QB Aaron Rodgers with Green Bay is better than QB Brock Osweiler with Denver, but the Oakland offense is much better than Dallas’ offense, whom Green Bay’s D got to beat up in a 28 to 7 win in Week 14. The Raiders won’t mind getting into a shootout. In a shootout, Oakland can hold its own. The Raiders can upset Green Bay on the moneyline in Week 15.

Pick: Oakland
