NFL Week 16 ATS PicksJosh Bailey
The best time to jump on games is when online football lines first come out, which is why we’re already serving up NFL Week 16 ATS Picks. San Diego travels to San Francisco desperate for a win after dropping a home game to Denver. Atlanta plays New Orleans in a must win game for both squads while NYJ hosts New England in a game that could determine whether or not New England gets home field advantage throughout the playoffs.
Analyzing My NFL Week 16 ATS Picks
San Diego Chargers at San Francisco 49ers
When: Saturday, Dec. 20 at 8:25 pm ET
Betting Line: San Francisco -2.5
Analysis: At 7 and 7, San Francisco has been eliminated from playoff contention. The 49ers have not shot of winning the NFC West. They also have no shot of garnering an NFC Wildcard spot.
What will San Francisco be playing for against San Diego on Saturday? Not much and the Niners’ offense is putrid. It’s averaging 314.1 yards per game and a horrible 17.9 points per contest. Statistically, it’s worse than Washington’s offense. Quarterback Colin Kaepernick’s QB rating is a woeful 84.9. In San Francisco’s last 3 games, all losses, Kaepernick has recorded QB ratings of 36.7, 54.4, and 81.3. His TD to interception ratio in the last 3 games is 1 to 4.

San Diego has gone 1 and 4 against the spread in their last 5 games, but this is a must win situation. And, after beating Oakland, St. Louis and Baltimore, the Chargers faced New England and Denver in 2 straight games. San Francisco is a bit of a relief for the Bolts who look ready to upset the 49ers on the money line.
My NFL Week 16 ATS Pick: San Diego +2.5
Atlanta Falcons at New Orleans Saints
When: Sunday, Dec. 21 at 1:00 pm ET
Betting Line: N/A
Analysis: New Orleans hasn’t been playing very well at home this season. The Saints are a terrible 2 and 5 against the spread. The 44 to 23 victory over Green Bay in late October in the Super Dome, though, shows that when the Saints are on, they can be a very difficult team to deal with.
The defense obviously has to play better in Game 2 against the Falcons than it did in Game 1 when it allowed Falcons’ QB Matt Ryan to pass for 448 yards and 3 touchdowns. The Falcons are 5 and 9, but, surprisingly, are not out of the playoff hunt for the NFC South title.
New Orleans is too good of a team, with top leadership in Sean Payton, to lose to the Falcons for the second time in a single season. Expect New Orleans to come out fired up and ready to cover the spread in this game.
My NFL Week 16 ATS Pick: New Orleans ATS
New England Patriots at New York Jets
When: Sunday, Dec. 21 at 1:00 pm ET
Betting Line: New England -10
Analysis: The Jets arguably played their best games of the season in a 16 to 11 win over the Tennessee Titans in Week 15. Geno Smith was only 16 of 28 for 179 yards and a TD, but he didn’t throw a pick. More importantly, the Jets rushed for 114 yards while holding the Titans to only 89 yards on the ground.

NYJ battles New England in Week 16 and their success in Week 15 could actually hurt them in Week 16. The Jets are often focused for the Patriots, the Pats only beat them by 2 points, 27 to 25, earlier this season, but facing the Patriots after your best performance of the season isn’t the best situation when you’re the Jets.
Rex Ryan’s team figures to play a bit worse in Week 16 than in Week 15. In order to keep it close against the best team in the NFL, the Jets are going to have to be perfect. That most likely won’t happen.
