A few of the more intriguing games has the New York Giants facing Buffalo, Philadelphia taking on Washington, and 2 and 1 Minnesota traveling to undefeated Denver. New Orleans hosts Dallas in the Sunday night game still looking for their first win of the season. Let’s take a look at my NFL week 4 betting cheat sheet!
A Closer Look At The NFL’s Week 4 Best Bets
Baltimore at Pittsburgh – Even without QB Ben Roethlisberger, Pittsburgh’s offense should find the going much easier against Baltimore’s sieve of a defense than it did versus St. Louis’ front line.
New York Jets at Miami – The Dolphins imploded versus Buffalo in Week 3. In Week 4, the implosion should continue. Expect a much better Jets’ performance than what we saw in Week 3 versus Philadelphia.
Jacksonville at Indianapolis – Now that Indianapolis has that first win under their belts, can they keep it going? Not likely. Jacksonville’s defense is underrated. Plus, Andrew Luck doesn’t have the weapons that Tom Brady does.
New York Giants at Buffalo – Who knew this would be a key matchup when the season started? The Giants want to get to .500 while Buffalo wants to go to 3 and 1. Back the Bills.
Carolina at Tampa Bay – Tampa Bay’s offense doesn’t stand a chance against Carolina’s defense while QB Cam Newton should have his own way versus the Bucs’ defense.
Philadelphia at Washington – You have to like how Philadelphia beat up a Jets’ defense that had stuffed everybody it had faced so far. Still, Washington’s running game is powerful.
Oakland at Chicago – It was a tough assignment for QB back-up Jimmy Clausen to take on the Seahawks at Citi Field on Sunday. Clausen will have a much easier time versus Oakland.
Houston at Atlanta – The Falcons have been brilliant so far this season when going 3 and 0. Houston’s offense won’t be able to keep up, but the defense is starting to hit its stride. After 3 tough battles versus NFC East opponents, Atlanta is due for a letdown.
Kansas City at Cincinnati – Cincinnati is another undefeated team that figures to underperform in Week 4. They left a lot of energy on the field versus the rival Ravens in Week 3. Expect the Chiefs to get it done.
Pick: Kansas City
Cleveland at San Diego – San Diego gets a reprieve this week. Cleveland’s defense is going to get into a lot of trouble versus QB Phillip Rivers.
Pick: San Diego
Green Bay at San Francisco – Green Bay doesn’t lose games to teams like San Francisco. The 49’ers figure to put up a tough fight, but the Packers will prevail.
Pick: Green Bay
St. Louis at Arizona – How good is Arizona? Good enough to go 4 and 0? Yes, they are.
Minnesota at Denver – This is a tough, tough matchup for both teams. Minnesota’s defense can really punish Peyton Manning while Denver’s defense is the best in the NFL. Since Denver is at home, they’re the pick.
Dallas at New Orleans – QB Brandon Weeden came back down to earth against the Falcons in the second half. Expect New Orleans to not even let him get off to a hot start in this game. The Saints are due for some luck.
Pick: New Orleans
Detroit at Seattle – You have to feel bad for Detroit. The defense played much better versus Denver than it has all season long. Still, they dropped to 0 and 3. As crazy as it sounds, Seattle didn’t look as sharp on offense as many expected them to look versus the Bears. Plus, the Lions’ defensive line is finally coming around. Detroit pulls off the upset.
