NFL Week 5 Five ? Lock PicksJosh Bailey
It’s Week 5 in the NFL. The good teams are separating themselves from the bad, which means finding five ? lock picks might be easier to do. But, that whole betting spread thing could definitely throw the picks out of whack.
That’s why it might be best to go with a couple of home dogs and one road dog for the Week 5 NFL Five ? Lock Picks. The first game has St. Louis traveling to Green Bay. In the second matchup, Denver travels to Oakland and in the third lock game of Week 5, Pittsburgh heads to San Diego.
A Closer Look At My NFL Week 5 Must Bet Five ? Lock Picks
St. Louis Rams at Green Bay Packers
When: Sunday, Oct. 11 at 1:00 pm ET
Odds: Green Bay -10
Analysis: Green Bay was brilliant in their last home game versus the Kansas City Chiefs. In that game, Packers’ QB Aaron Rodgers threw for 333 yards and 5 touchdowns. The Chiefs’ defense is one of the worst in the NFL at stopping the pass. When Rodgers faced a better pass defense in San Francisco in Week 4, he could only pass for 224 yards and a single TD. The Packers scored only 17 points in a 17 to 3 win over San Francisco.

Now, Rodgers faces one of the better defenses in the NFL in the St. Louis Rams. The Rams go into this game off of a 24 to 22 win over NFC West rival Arizona. St. Louis is allowing only 235.2 passing yards per game.
Green Bay should win, but they shouldn’t win by more than 7 points. St. Louis will keep this one close all the way to the end.
Pick: St. Louis +10
Denver Broncos at Oakland Raiders
When: Sunday, Oct. 11 at 4:25 pm ET
Odds: Denver -5.5
Analysis: Denver is undefeated, but the Broncos haven’t exactly blown any of their opponents out. The Broncos could only beat Minnesota by 3 points, 23 to 20, in Week 4. Minnesota was able to pass the ball against the Broncos’ defense. Teddy Bridgewater threw for 269 yards and a TD. Oakland QB David Carr has thrown 7 touchdowns to only 2 interceptions. Even though he wasn’t great against Chicago in his last game, his QB rating remains high at 94.9. Rookie WR Amari Cooper is as good as it gets.

Oakland always seems to play Denver tough and the Broncos’ offense isn’t as good as it used to be. Expect the Raiders to put up a decent fight at home in Week 5.
Pick: Oakland +5.5
Pittsburgh Steelers at San Diego Chargers
When: Monday, Oct. 12 at 8:30 pm ET
Odds: San Diego -3
Analysis: Sure, the Steelers have a lot of important injuries on their teams. But, so do the San Diego Chargers. For example, wide receivers Malcolm Floyd and Stevie Johnson are questionable for this game.
What the Steelers have over the Charges is an excellent rushing attack with both Le’Veon Bell and DeAngelo Williams. Both of those guys run behind a very good offensive line. Not only is the Chargers rushing game worse than the Steelers, but the Chargers defense is allowing 126.8 yards per game on the ground. Cincinnati rushed for 175 yards against San Diego in Week 2. Minnesota, due to Adrian Peterson, rushed for 163 yards.

Even lowly Cleveland, who averages 85.9 yards rushing per game, rushed for 100 yards against the Chargers’ D in Week 4. Pittsburgh should be able to at least contain Phillip Rivers and the Chargers offense while Williams and Bell might run for over 100 yards each.
Pick: Pittsburgh +3
