Week 7 NFL Upset Picks

An upset-charged Saturday in college football was followed by one of the best Sundays of the NFL season, thanks primarily to the Miami Dolphins. The Dolphins’ 30-15 upset of the favored Pittsburgh Steelers will go down as the biggest upset of the season that no one would of picked. Keep reading for a my NFL Week 7 picks that are a little less ulcer inducing.

Week 7 NFL Upset Picks

Can the Saints make it 3 wins in a row versus Kansas City on the road this Oct. 23? How will Cincinnati respond facing Cleveland at home after getting their lunch handed to them by New England this past Sunday? Is Washington good enough to win 5 straight games?  See below for my NFL upset picks for Week 8!

New Orleans at Kansas City
When:  Sunday, Oct. 23 at 1:00 pm ET
Where: Arrowhead Stadium, Kansas City, MO
Odds: New Orleans +6.5

Analysis: The Saints have now won 2 games in a row after starting out the season losing their first 3 straight up. New Orleans is a tough team. Anybody who doubts that should take a look at how they came back against San Diego before holding out against Carolina.
Tough doesn’t always translate too good. What will translate too good for the Saints in this matchup is the fact that they average 335.2 passing yards per game. That’s huge against Kansas City because the Chiefs’ defense was burned by Pittsburgh and San Diego earlier in the season.

KC’s D stepped it big time against Oakland this past Sunday. I don’t think it has the same kind of luck against the Saints on Oct. 23. As far as Kansas City’s offense is concerned, it should move the ball against the Saints’ defense.

In a shootout, I’ll take the Saints and the points.

Upset Pick: New Orleans

Cleveland at Cincinnati
When:  Sunday, Oct. 23 at 1:00 pm ET
Where: Paul Brown Stadium, Cincinnati, OH
Odds: Cleveland +10

Analysis: The Bengals have lost 4 out of their last 5 games. What’s worse, for football handicappers at least, is that Cincinnati is 1-4 ATS in those last 5 games. What gives? The Bengals have played against tough teams this season. But they haven’t even been close losing 14 to 28 to Dallas and losing 17 to 35 to New England in their last two matchups.

Cleveland lost 26 to 28 to Tennessee as a +7.5 road dog in their last. The Browns aren’t a good team. But they play with a lot of heart. I think that Cleveland could do just enough to keep this within the 10-point spread. The Browns have been knocking on the door for a win.

So, football handicappers shouldn’t be surprised if they somehow get that win over the Cincinnati Bengals on Sunday.

Upset Pick: Cleveland

Washington at Detroit
When:  Sunday, Oct. 23 at 1:00 pm ET
Where: Ford Field, Detroit, MI
Odds: Washington +1

Analysis: Technically, Washington is an underdog at +1 against Detroit on Sunday, Oct. 23. The DC’ers have been a surprise team so far this season. After losing their first 2 games of the season, Washington has bounced back with 4 straight wins. The DC’ers are also covering spreads, meaning that they’ve become a solid team for football bettors to back.

Washington should have no trouble keeping up with Detroit’s passing game in this match up. Lions’ QB Matthew Stafford has been great this season. Plus, Detroit has won its last 2 games. But Washington is playing like one of the better teams in the AFC.

I think that they get the job done as a slight underdog on Oct. 23.

Upset Pick: Washington
