The Week 9 Five Star NFL lock picks may look like easy plays, but it took some serious thinking in order to come up with them. The first game takes place in the Tennessee at New Orleans contest. New Orleans looked great in their 52 to 49 win over the New York Giants, but Tennessees’ star rookie quarterback might return for this game.
The other Week 9 NFL lock betting pick matchup pits Atlanta against San Francisco. Philadelphia battles Dallas on Monday night in the third Lock Pick game. Which teams have the upper hand in this week’s NFL Lock Picks? Remember that all NFL week 9 lock picks are against the betting spread.
A Closer Look At The NFL Week 9 Five ? Lock Picks
Tennessee at New Orleans
When: Sunday, Nov. 8 at 1:00pm ET
Tennessee has lost 6 games in a row after beating Tampa Bay 42 to 14. The Titans go into their week without the head coach that they started the season with, Ken Wisenhunt. Tennessee let Wisenhunt go on Tuesday morning.
The Titans also might be without starting QB Marcus Mariota who continues to suffer due to a knee injury. Mariota could make the game against New Orleans somewhat closer, but in all likelihood, the Saints are going to blow out the Titans by at least 2 to 3 touchdowns. It might be worse.
New Orleans’ defense wasn’t able to shut down Eli Manning and the Giants’ offense, but the Saints’ defensive line did pressure Manning on a number of plays. The D is going to play much better against Mariota or Zach Mettenberger. The Saints should dominate.
Pick: New Orleans
Atlanta at San Francisco
When: Sunday, Nov. 8 at 4:05 pm ET
Odds: Atlanta -5
San Francisco is a mess. Things are so bad in San Francisco that the 49’ers are benching Colin Kaepernick for Blaine Gabbert. That’s not a typo. Blaine Gabbert, the man so bad that the Jaguars let him go, is starting on Sunday.
Too bad for Gabbert that he faces a very good defense in Atlanta’s on Sunday. Dan Quinn has done a masterful job of keeping Atlanta’s defense from imploding like it did in 2014. The defense is ranked tenth overall, including being ranked third against the rush.
That’s going to be an issue for San Francisco. Unless you truly believe that Gabbert is the answer, the 49’ers will have problems moving the football in this matchup. Atlanta’s offense might finally start getting things going against San Francisco’s defense. Atlanta should easily cover the spread.
Philadelphia at Dallas
When: Monday, Nov. 9 at 8:30pm ET
Odds: Philadelphia -3
The only answer in Dallas is a healthy Tony Romo. Romo won’t play on Monday night, meaning that Dallas once again will try and win a game by handing the ball off to RB Darren McFadden and having journeyman QB Matt Cassel throw it.
Neither is going to work against a Philadelphia defense that has been very good lately. Philadelphia’s defense is the reason why the Eagles could go to .500 if they beat Dallas on Monday night.
The Cowboys defense is a mess. They’ll do just enough to grab an interception or 2 from Sam Bradford, Bradford throws at least 2 in almost every game it seems like, but they may not be able to shut down RBs DeMarco Murray and Ryan Mathews. Philly puts another L onto Dallas’ record in a 10 point win on Monday night.
