A Closer Look At The NHL’s Best Bets For Nov 9th-15th
St. Louis Blues at New York Rangers
When: Thursday, Nov. 12
New York should be the favorite in this game. The reason that this game is so attractive for NHL bettors is because the favored Rangers take on one of the top teams in the Western Conference, St. Louis.
St. Louis has a 10-3-1 record to start the week. The Blues have been very impressive. St. Louis even beat Nashville 4 to 0 on Saturday in Nashville. If the Blues defense continues to play well, St. Louis could end up as the team to beat.
In any case, the Blues have a huge shot of beating New York on the road as a more than even money favorite. Expect St. Louis to come out and beat their Eastern Conference foe on Thursday.
Pick: St. Louis
Florida Panthers at Tampa Bay Lightning
When: Saturday, Nov. 14
Florida travels to Tampa Bay to take on the Lightning in a game that the Panthers desperately need to win. Florida has lost 5 straight games to start the week. The Panthers are already in desperation mode and it’s barely November.
Florida isn’t going to turn their season around in this matchup. The Lightning has only gone 2 and 2 in their last 4 games to start the week. The defense has been great. They need to get their offense going.
No problem. Florida is allowing 32 shots and 4.2 goals a game. The Panthers are only winning face-offs at 48%. They’re killing penalties only 76.9% of the time. Tampa Bay should beat Florida by at least 1 goal in this matchup if not 2 goals.
Pick: Tampa Bay
Calgary Flames at Chicago Blackhawks
When: Sunday, Nov. 15
To start the week, the Calgary Flames re 5-9-0-1. Calgary is 2-4-0-1 in their away games to start this week. The Flames face Chicago at the tail end of a 4 game road trip.
That’s not a good thing. Chicago hasn’t been great overall this season. But, at home, they’ve been absolutely awesome. The Blackhawks are 1-5 on the road and 7-1-1 at home. Chicago hasn’t scored less than 3 goals in any home match so far this season.
Calgary allows 3.9 goals per game. Play the goal line in this matchup. Give up the 1 ½ goals on Chicago for better odds.
