Since the Winter Olympics ended many of the sub-par teams really pulled things together, one of them is the Canadiens, as they have turned their season around and are very much alive in the hunt for the postseason. Boston is as usual ahead of the pack but have shown some signs of defensive breakdowns. The Bruins took game one from Montreal 2-1 but Late January the Canadiens traveled to Boston and beat up on the poor Bruins winning the game 4-1.
Boston needs to take better care of their area, they have given up 4 power plays in their own area in back to back games. They do not do a great job at clearing the rebounds or pressing their defense in mid ice. These are all things that this team is normally known for doing. I expect in this game that the Bruins really be physical as they should out skate the Montreal forwards, protecting the puck is the main goal because giving up an early score in this game could be disastrous.
The Canadiens are not a good road team but have had some of their best games on their home ice. I have noticed that they tend to really get the crowd going and making their opponents play their hockey. This team thrives on wrist shots from 10 feet out, they set up their offense to rotate the win man to the center of the ice allowing for better side control and rebounds from the front guys. Montreal will be -130 in this game and home ice will be the big factor, I have the Canadiens winning this game in a close one, take the under 4 goals +160 as well to get some extra cash.
