NHL Expert Picks Dec 11- 17

The L.A. Kings travel to New York to battle the Rangers. Do the Kings have any shot versus the Rangers in Madison Square Garden?

The Centennial Classic takes place this Saturday when Montreal battles Ottawa. Who takes it in that nationally aired out-door hockey game?

Calgary heads to Vancouver to battle the Canucks on Sunday, Dec. 17. Will the Canucks battle back the Flames on their own ice?

NHL Expert Picks Dec 11- 17

L.A. Kings at NY Rangers
When:  Friday, Dec. 15 at 7:00 pm ET
Where: Madison Square Garden, New York, NY

The Kings are on a 4-game road trip before taking on Colorado at home on Dec. 21. The first game is against the New Jersey Devils on Dec. 12. This battle happens on Dec. 15.

3 days is plenty of time for the Kings to get ready to face-off against the New York Rangers. L.A. remains one of the top teams in NHL. The Kings have a gaudy 20-8-3-0 record. As of Dec. 11, L.A. has won 8 in a row.

Pick: NY Rangers

Centennial Classic at Lansdowne Park
Montreal at Ottawa
When:  Saturday, Dec. 16 at 7:00 pm ET
Where: Lansdowne Park, Ottawa, ON, CA

The Centennial Classic should be a decent matchup between two good NHL squads. Montreal is 13-14-3-1 as of Dec. 11. But, the Canadiens still have plenty of time to garner a winning record.

Ottawa is 9-12-3-4. Like the Canadians, the Senators have plenty of time to end the season with a winning record. Both teams should be motivated in the Centennial Classic at Lansdowne on Saturday.

The last time these two faced each other on the ice, Montreal beat Ottawa 2 to 1. This matchup could be different. The reason is that the last match happened in Montreal. Lansdowne Park is in Ottawa.

Pick: Ottawa

Calgary at Vancouver
When:  Sunday, Dec.17 at 8:00 pm ET
Where: Rogers Arena, Vancouver, BC, CA

By the time Calgary heads to Vancouver, the Flames will have battled the Minnesota Wild on the road on Dec. 12. On Dec. 14, Calgary hosts the tough San Jose Sharks. Two days later, the Nashville Predators are in town to take on Calgary.

A day later is when the Flames travel to Vancouver. Could Calgary take down the Canucks after a testing 3 games before the Sunday matchup?

I believe they can. The last time these two battled, Calgary beat Vancouver 4 to 2. It’s difficult to see much changing in this match on Dec. 17.

Pick: Calgary
